the California Air Resources Board... expects to be able to announce the full slate of automakers who are participating in the program in the next month.

I thought more about this and realized that it would be very difficult for a new company to chip in $1,750 per truck. Especially since Slate is designed to be an affordable truck and the whole operation is on the lean side. I was happy with $25K and I still am. The $3,500 incentives aren't going to steer me towards a different EV or change how I feel about Slate. 💪

Yep. I looked into it when I first saw it. It's a giveaway to auto manufacturers with big pockets. It's completely political.

I live in California, and I completely agree with you. In addition, Slate has to spend money for that discount for California sales, which it could have been using to keep costs down for sales everywhere.

A federal rebate was the way to go. Sadly, one of Slate's competitors made that go away.

It took me this long to figure it out! You all could have said something sooner eh? 😂 Seriously though, I never got any steep discounts on new cars anyway. Without any federal/state money, this is still a good buy. 👍
