Yes, the cargo kit will be available to everyone, not just fleet. While I am not sure exactly when that option will be available on the Maker, you don't need to worry about that quite yet. You can design your Truck, but you don’t need to commit to accessories now. Preordering just secures your delivery timing. You’ll finalize your build and purchase accessories later when you complete your purchase, closer to your delivery window.

I like the idea of doing this instead of a tonneau cover or even a topper. Good for covered storage. Just think of how many dachshunds you could store!

Based on the single image on the site, I'm guessing no windows, but it could be that it has windows but they are wrapped in the image.

At this point, I'm guessing it would be the SUV kit without the seats... Will it be without the roll cage though? I think it will, but I forgot to ask.

Thank you for contacting Slate! We're glad you asked, and we're definitely planning for some dog-friendly accessories for our Slate. Agreed, it sounds like the Cargo Kit would be the way to go, as it provides the topper without seats or a rollbar, but other than that it provides all the same capabilities as the SUV Kit.

I don't have dog friends, but I have tool friends. I'm expecting the same. Get the blank slate and add it later to excite my tools once they realize they will be free from being stolen or rained on.

I only carry a small collection of tools, hoping there is a suitable place, but also curious as to the roof rack, mainly is the top panel still removable? I once carried a 6ft sliding patio door on top my old Tundra, but those days are gone. (Maybe)

I'm hoping to run a fastback "cargo kit". I don't want it to be fully squared off, but would like that volume available for use in the winter.

If my delivery window is before about April 2027, I'll ~~need~~ want something to keep the bed from getting full of snow and ice and slush. Tonneau cover? Fastback cargo kit? SUV cargo kit? I'm unsure of exactly which of those three I want, but I'm pretty sure it's a problem that can be solved to my satisfaction.

This is a good thread. We are all wondering the same things. I have the same questions as the previous two posts.

I don't frequently carry full sheets of plywood, but I wonder if the cargo kit will kill that idea. Then I'm thinking about a tonneau cover instead. Not sure I want the rack, I'm too old to be lifting crap that high.

All good questions, and another great thing about Slate, we can wait for the dust to settle first.

I am a bit curious as to the midgate and the floorwell.
