Of course, their "trade-in plans" could be, no trade-ins. Doubt it though.

Yeah, the joy of pre-order. We are all in a kind of limbo having to deal with foggy plans. Only a handful of us have a 5 car garage with a space open to slip it in whenever.

Here's a list of limbo items I've read on this forum:

• Will I get it in time to get my kid in a car for school
• Will my current crappy car/cars last long enough before we get it
• Will my Spark with a range of 20 miles have a range of 10 by then (just extrapolating )
• How will I finance this? Maybe if I have 7 months, I'll save a downpayment
• My car is valued well now, will it hold value for trade or sale for downpayment
• What about trading for it
• Are the logistics of picking it up going to kill me
• I've already got my trip planned to Warsaw, and now they tell me not to come
• Will my wife divorce me over this obsession

Drive-out total is $28,442.

In Michigan, we have to pay a $267 fee, irrespective of vehicle weight or annual mileage, for the privilege of driving an EV. Highest in the country! It's tied to a multiple of the gas tax, but the gas tax is per gallon so it automatically corrects for low-mileage drivers. Ugh!

If so, the more that bail, I guess the quicker those that hold will get theirs.

i cant find exactly where, but it was mentioned that they are setting up a trade-in program.
My assumption is that it will come with the announcement of how they are the truck to your house. The widespread thought is that Carvana will have something to do with that.

If they could do trade-ins that would be good for me, as the sales tax at 11% is the reduced by the trade in value given. That might get me under $23k out the door!

Very solid list.
But you've missed some of my favorite:

-will demand be so high, so I can flip it in 6 mos for a profit
-will Slate give me 0% lease, cuz they should, how else will they sell?

No problem here in SC. Our taxes for a car are capped at $500. Im all in for $26,900 and still not going into a dealership!

In texas the tax is 6.25%. If the $300 is deducted directly from the vehicle cost before tax is calculated:

• Base Price: $24,950.00
• Destination Charge: +$1,450.00
• Less Order Fee: -$300.00
• Taxable Amount: $26,100.00
• Sales Tax (6.25%): +$1,631.25
• Total Out-the-Door Cost: $27,731.25

Which is still less than the MSRP of the cheapest new Maverick. If they dont count the $300 as a discount then the OTD price is closer to $27,500. Dont forget, if you trade in a vehicle the amount of the trade is deducted from the taxable amount, so the taxes could be less depending on your trade situation.

Close ... you forgot some of the fees at registration in Texas:
$400 2 years EV fee
$28 Title fee
$50.75 Registration
$12.75 Mandatory state fees
Plus up to $31.50 in county fees

So something around $28250 OTD.

We're probably going to have to pay sales tax on the $300 already fronted as a deposit ... so another ~$19

In GA, the numbnuts charge 238 every year and just went up in July. I only plan to drive mine around 6000 miles a year so they are going to give me the screw over.

Only if they don’t think too well. The out the door price on any vehicle will be substantially more than the MSRP unless it has substantial discounts/rebates.

I have never seen/heard anyone complain about how the OTD of a Chevy Bolt is higher than the base price and etc. If the title of a YT clip says how the Slate truck is not really under $25K, I know I can skip it.

A large pizza is not just $30 as shown on the menu, it is around $40 when you add taxes, delivery charge, and tips. We all know that. 🤦
