This is actually a pretty good comparison. I take exception to a few items in it, especially the depreciation. If you plan to keep the truck until the wheels fall off, then it's not really a factor and the Slate is even better.
So if you take depreciation out and look at a 10 year timeline, then it's more like $113 per month or $13.6K. As they warn though, YMMV.
The article talks about the Maverick having more features, but it doesn't mention that they are car features. When it comes to truck features, the two are nearly equal and in the areas where they are different (bed size & load carrying capacity), the Slate edges the Maverick out.
