Should have known better than ask a serious question. Doubtful Slate is working on Indonesia delivery in near future.
Or even the distant future. Yet Slate could have a market in the archipelago. EVs are popular here, and some might be willing to pay more for the novelty of a small reliable American brand.

Right now, Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese EVs are stealing the show - even though the Vietnamese ones aren't highly regarded. I've yet to see a Tesla. There are very few American ICE vehicles on the road. Japanese makes pretty much dominate that shrinking space.

I'm waiting for one in Indonesia.
We live in the US, but travel to Indonesia from time to time. I'm leaving for the US tonight and should be back by Wednesday evening. The 12-hour layover just might kill me.

Anyhoo... I'll get my Slate like most people - after a looong wait :fingerscrossed:

Do you think you'll export a Slate to Indonesia? What are the laws for that? It would certainly be a unique vehicle there.

It wouldn't be worth it as a private importer. I'd have to pay 20% on the taxible value. Whatever shipping I choose will be slow and expensive. Especially these days.

I could likely get a special dispensation to drive it here - even with left-side drive. Not sure I'd brave Jakarta traffic with the "wrong" configuration, though.

Biggest hurdle would be the taillights. They have to be amber or yellow in back and distinct from the brakelights. I'll prolly need an adaptor for the NACS plug, as well.

Sounds like you would have an opportunity to try some of those Asian brands that (probably?) won’t be found stateside. That could lead to some interesting comparisons and insights.

Hurdles… sounds like realistically you don’t expect to get one there. Maybe in the States?

The event in San Diego sounds awesome! I have never been to any event with a live DJ. This one has cars, bikes, stunts, tacos and Slate!! 🤩🤩
