Personally I would expect to see between 5 and 30 miles on the Slate’s odometer at delivery. Of course, this would be completely acceptable due to factory testing, loading and unloading from trucks or trains, and perhaps staging at the delivery partner.

Also, if taking home delivery to my curb I’m wondering if the Slate will be driven or flat bedded from the delivery center. And do I get a choice?

In the past, I recall seeing less than 50 miles on a brand new car at delivery. I understand that anything under 100 is totally normal, but if it’s over 100 miles I’m going to be a bit hesitant, wondering it was a demo or test-drive vehicle. I think it’s going to be a “take it or leave it” situation as there may be a significant delay on the next one in queue.

Was curious about your thoughts on this subject?

I would not expect any significant miles on the trucks. Test drives will be on separate trucks at events well before delivery. Every time I've car shopped or been with someone car shopping, you test drive the actual vehicles you are potentially buying, and there aren't "test-drive vehicles" New vehicles I've seen on lots usually have low single digit miles, I don't expect driving out of the factory and onto and off of transport train cars and car haulers would amount to more than a mile?
I doubt that for home delivery they would drive it to you, because that would mean 2 people have to drive to you so the driver can get a ride back. More likely it will be brought on a flatbed.

I ordered a BMW in 2006 that was built in Germany. It had 3 miles on it when I took delivery in the USA.

I couldn't vote for 6-25 and "it doesn't matter". Probably single digits, but really there's not much you can do to a low power EV that will wear it out prematurely other than leaving the battery charged to 100%, which you can do with 0 miles. There's nothing to break in. People buy demo / test drive vehicles all the time and they are generally fine, but really Slate is not going to use one as a demo for 100 miles and sell it. I wouldn't worry about the odometer.

Some will see higher miles. OEMs take a sample out of every day's production run to do a quality validation road test. They want to detect if something has gone sour on the production line. It's a good thing for everyone that they do this.
Yeah, but at the same time, since they won't be having customers do test drives at a dealership of the one they are purchasing, like normally happens traditionally, and they will keep doing events, a lot of those validation road test vehicles will go to events after testing for everyone to test drive.

id assume less them 10 depending on how they unload and load and the distance between. id personally like to see at least 2 miles to at least know they tested it but I'm fine ether way.
