While most of us can adapt to or are used to streaming from our phone for tunes, some like me, listen to news radio or sports that can sometimes be hard to find on the apps. Like Simple Radio or iHeart Radio or Spotify. Some just don't want to burn data or might not have service everywhere they drive.
I think this basic tuner with antenna or something similar may be a possible way forward for radio lovers that aren't looking for a concert hall level sound system.

This mini FM radio has great signal sensitivity and a 33ft antenna for clear reception worldwide. Check it out on Amazon now! https://a.co/d/05fopsJV

My only concern with not having a radio is that some star have laws that prohibit cell phone use while driving could cause more harm than good

There’s a lot of relatively simple AM/FM radios out there, most with other possibly ‘unwanted’ features, Retro Sounds has several options and there’s a Panasonic one for $40 or so. Simple to make a mount or throw it in one of the glove boxes…….

A quick search on line will bring up many 1 DIN car radios, Some for as little as $30. "Stealth" radio antennas are out there. As soon as they come up with a price for the individual dash panels, (they should not be expensive) I plan to get a couple and experiment with some old car radios I have sitting around.

The funny thing about that is, you said you were too cheap then showed a product $5 more than the one I posted.😆
You are talking to Mr "I am too cheap" right here, ask my wife.🤣
Neat find though.

Where are you going to mount the antenna?

Where are you going to mount the antenna?
My first thought is maybe mount it to one of the built-in metal rails in the bed.
However between now and when I get the truck, it is highly likely someone will have this completely sorted out.

Your name sounds like a porch pirate stealing all the Amazon deliveries.
Are you buying a Slate to silently cruise through neighborhoods loading up all our packages?
You better not be ordering the cargo kit!🤣
I actually worked for UPS for 45 years, and I was thinking of the cargo kit.
I cancelled my reserve, but am still following Slate and hope they do well.
Being retired with two almost new vehicles, I really didn't need the Slate, just thought it was cool, loved the concept, and would buy one for local errands.

The Slate reminds me of an old basic GMC S15 I once owned, 4cyl, 4sp, no a/c, no PS, no PB. I loved that little truck!
This is the last "truck" I owned:
