Apologies in advance if this has been covered, I looked and could not find it.

I'm just curious, if you had unlimited funds, and added every feature, add-on and accessory available through Slate, where would you be on price? 50K? More? It seems like Slate is trying and/or hoping to make a lot of profit/money on accessories. Has anyone tried to configure a Slate with ALL the accessories and add-ons available? Then there is the question of diminished range after all those add-ons. Taking into consideration aerodynamics and weight. If no one has done it, I will try to configure a Slate with every add-on possible.

Kind of hard to add every accessory, some things are not compatible with other accessories. Every combination would come up with a different total. Not to mention many still don’t have prices.

I wasn't even trying (hard), just clicking around, seeing what price came up, and I hit $40K plus, before Tax, Tag, and Title. So I am thinking you could easily hit $50K before Tax, Tag, and Title. Then what would my range be? 120-150 miles?

You should be able to squeeze another 10% more with taxes, fees, registration, destination.

I got this abomination Fastback up to $46k by including a very complex set of wrap choices and decals, then going for every on-vehicle exterior and interior accessory I could select (choosing the most expensive combo when there were conflicting choices). I held back and did not include any of the off-vehicle accessories - those are things you could just buy anywhere so don't feel like they count.

Honestly still not that expensive compared to market, and holy cow it looks crazy. I don't think you can quite break $50k unless you included things like the inflatable chairs.

Oh hell, the sales tax alone is going to add another 11% in plenty of Washington state. You can toss in another $700 (estimate) for registration. Of course, the state tax penalties will hit you with any other new car purchase too...

Slate's Retrograde starter pack is $39k. To that, you can still add the spare tire carrier and the most expensive roof rack. That will get you an expensive vehicle that is still in the realm of good taste. (IMO) And as has already been said, many of the features in that starter pack don't have a price yet, and you need to add the destination charge...

A 2026 Ioniq 5 SEL is $41,400 (inc destination). For that you get 9 color choices (although several of the colors add an additional $500 or $1000.)

Honestly, if you want to spend that kind of money up front, all at once, then maybe Slate isn't the vehicle for you. Or maybe you're the kind of person who's willing to pay a premium for the lack of certain features.

I'm confused about the range comment? Other than the roof rack or lift, I'm not sure what would be hurting your range? Those two items will probably have around a 15% penalty, so ~175miles.

Once you start adding pieces and parts to the outside of the car you change the aerodynamics. Then there is weight. Then there's tires and rims. You will lose range going from 17 to 18-in rims, never mind going from 17's to say 20's adding fat tires and wheel spacers. If you lower the car or raise the car, everything's going to affect the estimated range of a "Blank Slate". Then on top of that, if you drive in super cold weather, the Slate has a PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) resistance heater instead of a heat pump. All things considered, you could get down to 100 mile range. People that have never owned an EV before don't take all this into consideration.

That 205 mile "estimated" range is estimated with pushing the Slate downhill at 10 MPH, with a Tailwind, with no heat on, no air conditioning running, with a 132.5lb jockey behind the wheel, and ZERO Cargo. Jus Sayin....

Should be looking just price of the vehicle, not the taxes, fees, etc that would also apply to any other vehicle. JMHO

I think the only problem with this proposal is that this makes daddy sad:

Slate Auto Pickup Truck If you added EVERY feature, add-on and accessory..... 1784257700712-e3

And this makes daddy smile (for the same price):

Slate Auto Pickup Truck If you added EVERY feature, add-on and accessory..... 1784257738884-qf

(Srsly though, the Ioniq 6 is a good deal and would work great for a lot of people, but this thread is about wacky builds, not practical SE trims.)
