Just a simple rear topper for the truck's bed...

I am wanting to put a simple topper on my slate just so the bed is enclosed but can find nothing on the Slate site (as in a pre-order configuration). I have my $300 reservation in and want this to be a factory installation if possible. Also, pie-in-the-sky, wishing for a solid-state battery. Ha...!!

I also want a simple topper. It was called a Cargo Kit but isn’t shown as available, so I contacted Slate. Matt Daggett at Slate confirmed that it is coming.

is the cargo kit keep the cab separate from the bed ? or just a suv kit without windows and airbags

I was told there would be a bulkhead separating the cargo area from the cab. Don't know if it's a solid wall or not though.

I am looking forward to the cargo kit too. Just want a simple no frills camper shell to cover the bed of the truck and retain the seperating wall/window between the cab and the bed.

A conventional topper with the cab's rear glass removed might accomplish what I want to accomplish.

What do you suppose the chances are that third-party manufacturer will create a topper? If the FN is a success it's bound to happen eventually. I suppose that switches the question to when?

give it some time after they start hitting the road , aftermarket will produce especially if it takes off , companies like ARE/Leer , Smart Cap and Topo will make a hard bed cap

It's a great solution to one of the primary problem faced by truck cap manufacturers: Shipping. They can manufacture it in a place with cheap labor, condense it in a small box, and send it to your house.

Unfortunately, implementing it in that way makes the truck cap awful at being a truck cap, but that's less important than getting it to you.

Sorry did not notice they where inflatable, nice concept but a Leer would be great
