I like the inflatable caps. They seem perfectly good for a lot of use cases. Easy camping tent or rain cover.

When down the rabbit hole yesterday on inflatable caps and just may go this route for a easy on/off/storage solution the Flated brand looks like a good choice. Would only use a dozen time a year on over night trips into the sticks

What do you suppose the chances are that third-party manufacturer will create a topper? If the FN is a success it's bound to happen eventually. I suppose that switches the question to when?

I also want a simple topper. It was called a Cargo Kit but isn’t shown as available, so I contacted Slate. Matt Daggett at Slate confirmed that it is coming.

I asked about this as well. They told me the same thing, but when I asked if I could access the bed from the cabin they said no. It would have a divider. I think this is stupid, but it probably has something to do with the rigidity needed for safety.

I talked to a Yolanda from Slate that said the same thing, but she also said there would be a be a bulkhead divider between the front seats and cargo area. This bums us out, because we want to travel with our pets and want to be able to see them and interact with them without needing to buy a roll bar and seats that we don’t need.

I get that they need to create some form of stability back there for safety reasons. Does anyone know if they’ll sell the SUV kit minus the seats, or maybe an additional divider with the window, but you can slide the window open? I’ve seen many trucks with this ability.

I think there is going to be little more to be learned until they actually announce the cargo kit, as in show it along with pricing and details. An actual cargo kit probably needs a bulkhead that is solid or at least has mesh to protect the driver from loose cargo in a crash. Maybe there will be multiple versions, maybe one will actually be a more consumer friendly or dog carrier version.

I heard a rumor that Go Fast is already got one in the works.
Possibility Alu-Cab or Smart Cap might make them as well if the trucks are popular enough. But those most likely will all be caps that don’t offer flow through wiht the cab.
