Can you imagine the uproar should Slate decide to include a very basic radio?
Zero uproar if Slate follows its own philosophy: go to the Maker and add it to your build "IF" you want it.

There's no uproar that a $279 telematics module in the Maker. Won't be one for a Radio either. Especially if it is under $279. ;-)

Just call them "glove boxes" instead and with gloves in there, no rattling. Problem solved. :)

Coda thought: when I grew up in the midwest, we called it the "glove compartment." I'm not sure if that term is used anywhere else.
That was the term as a kid growing up in New England

Agreed. Choosing any addon from the Maker is not the same as Slate choosing/adding.

Yeah there would, because for all but a very small number of people it would not have the "right" features. Car audio is a "no win" because people have insanely strong preferences. Slate could put a bunch of effort into this and still end up with something that virtually no one would buy.

The Telematics module is a completely different animal because it's capabilities are dictated by the truck's design, not the desires of consumers. Only a minority will want it, but for those that do, Slate knows exactly what it needs to be.

So I'll actually be using this for truck stuff. I plan on using that space for:
  • Hours and mileage logs
  • Extra clean t-shirt
  • Safety and PPE for my volunteers (masks, goggles, ear plugs, gloves)
  • Durable snacks
Raiti’s Rides always evaluates storage space by the number of snacks it can accommodate. Love this guy!
