Aux ports are out of date now? I cannot get on board with Bluetooth.

And I say this as someone who wasn’t even old enough to drive in 2015.

My 2019 Honda Fit doesn't have an Aux port and it drives me nuts!! I can only connect smartphones to the built-in radio unit via Bluetooth. It wont let me connect my digital media player or any other "dumb" Bluetooth device. I just want a simple Aux port to connect what ever device I have without setting up a phone in its system. It would be so much easier than the Bluetooth-to-FM Rx/Tx workaround that I have (which doesn't work half the time).

Having vehicles all older than 2012, I am apparently in for an awakening. AUX was standard everywhere back then. Since my XM radio is so old (2006), it has a mega-blasting FM repeater made before the FCC sued XM over the strength. Maybe I'll just get a good quality FM radio and revert back to using the FM transmitter on the XM. (Got to worry about interference, though.)

I hope not. The H in CHMSL dictates it must be higher than the other brake lights. Clearly ~1" is above but not within the intent. I wonder how much stiffer they'll have to make the springs to ensure the truck doesn't lean more than two inches when hard cornering. Is there an available nav app that will route avoiding that much road camber?

Well a lot of cars had their 3rd brake light mounted on the top lip of the trunk, just like my Monte Carlo does.

Articulating tail lights on a 51 Ford Woody. Drop the tailgate and the lights rotate to stay visible. And no, I’m not proposing Slate do this with the 3rd brake light…..

Oh I adore the updated speakers! They look very sleek and we got that spinny volume knob I wanted!

It looks like that USBC-looking hole is a direct input to the speakers, which is good. A little strange to put a USBC and not a 3.5mm aux socket, but fine I guess.

Where are you seeing a USBC? Maybe I’m missing it.

I was hoping the phone mount would charge and connect your phone to the speakers instead of Bluetooth.

USB-C is a lot more versatile, is on most consumer electronics released within the last decade and on all consumer electronics released within the last couple of years. If you really need it, Apple makes a cable that goes directly from USB-C to 3.5mm

For power they wouldn't need it to be in the speaker. The music could still be controlled by those other buttons on the speaker, I have a bluetooth speaker that has a USBC you can play music off of also, it has buttons on it to switch songs, increase or decrease volume, no readout on it, probably the same as that speaker has on it.
