Has anyone found an other non-Slate parts? I know this same company is the one that has the 1.5" lift kit but I just found these rims as well. I actually kind of like them. I don't know if they're practical...

It's noteworthy that even these guys don't know the Slate bolt circle diameter for their rims:

I will be looking for aftermarket rims and tires. The 1EV rims are interesting yes. But I’ll wait until I have my Slate in hand before I make that decision. I notice the Slate photo shows an unknown tie-down accessory on top of the Slate bed. I would add that to my build but don’t see it on the Slate Maker or the 1EV site. Am I missing it somewhere?

The truck in the image is far from real, and not even a great rendering of the Slate, so I wouldn’t expect to find the rails shown anywhere at this time. I sent an email inquiry to 1EV about a month ago regarding their plans for the Slate and didn’t receive a response. With the recent addition of the wheel preorder, it does appear they intend to support the platform with many aftermarket products.

I don't see the fake bead lock ring and bolts, which is a good thing IMO.

It's taken directly from the vendor's description; I don't understand why they would advertise this feature if it's not even shown in their pictures. 🤷🏾 In the end it's not my company, not my product, not my circus.

I have a set of BBS wheels that will be used if I can find the proper adapters since they are not Slate specific.

My Slate will be a "city" truck...nice shoes are expected.

For comparison, this is a real Slate from one of the recent press kit photos I extracted using a neural network trained for advanced computer graphics work (AKA, I cut it out manually in GIMP. I have a bigger one but didn't want to waste 3 MB of file storage 😅).

So, is that weird design they're using just AI? A person working off a reference would've both avoided a lot of extra details and noticed some key things that were missing...like the roof spoiler and charging port door. It's close in some ways, but SO far off in others. Oh, the design is notably different in that profile view vs. the one in the OP's image, so that confirms it.

Where is the AI getting this idea of L-shaped sub-panels around the side indicators?? That's gotta be from some existing vehicle.

I have noticed when shopping for wheels lately that manufacturer's almost always leave out important info. in the specs. They rarely disclose the width of the rims and the weight. I come from a sportscar background and without that info. it is sometimes difficult to determine whether a wheel is the proper fit on a vehicle and whether a particular tire will work on that rim and that vehicle..

I will be taking my Slate to a specialty shop in Honolulu for rims, tires, and recheck alignment. Honest and reliable pros. Always give me good advice and great service. My Slate might be the first they will outfit but knowing how they operate, I’m confident they’ll get it right.

Looking at other wheel offerings from this company, the naming convention they use for part numbers would suggest the specs for their Slate specific wheel will be 18 x 8.5” on 5 x 114.3mm. Thats intriguing.
