Q2 delivery estimate for last minute reservations & new orders.

I don't think I have seen an EV trucks when I was there. I go early in the morning before it gets crowded and see mostly trucks that are really hauling. Most, if not all the EV trucks currently on the market seem too nice for commercial/industrial purposes.

This right here. I go to Home Depot a lot. Almost always a field of big honker trucks that don't fit in the parking space. 1 person, the driver, because most of those working people get deliveries of the big material. They go to Home Depot for the little crap. I'm always amazed by the contractors who roll around to give estimates with their big honkin dually diesels. It would make more sense for them to do that with a small vehicle. I did have one roofer who had a small car come for estimates. Otherwise when I work with these guys they almost always drive these big ones. No wonder service and contract work is going up in price. These guys have to pay for their 80k rigs.

You're right it's usually one person or two trying to fit everything into the truck. In early morning hours I see mostly beater trucks with battle wounds. They are trying to get the most out of that machine. I have tremendous respect for them and always park my small car in the back and walk my hobby items over.

Slate can be built out to accommodate the abuse that real work trucks must face. Maybe there can be a wrap with rubber textures or studs for more protection over the bulkhead and sides.

In my area I have seen Model Ys with roof racks holding a two piece ladder, I guess each piece is a folded up section of the full length. Didn't see any store logo on the exterior.

I realize Slate is still shuffling deliveries around, but right now Q2 seems to have a huge range. My res is Day 3 (27 Apr 2025), over a year before Cubicle (above); yet we are still both in Q2. It'll be interesting to see how this evolves, and looking forward to more order numbers from Slate official.

I have confirmed that even folks who reserved a few days prior to close of reservation period are getting a projected Apr - Jun 2027 delivery date. I'm confident this means even if you had no reservation , you could pre order it now, with Q2 delivery.

What does this mean?

Personally, I think this means that the number of non-refundable preorders is... modest. We have no idea what the reality of production and supply chain will look like, but I'm hard pressed to imagine Slate trying to deliver more than 5,000 units per month, initially. Yes, I am merely pulling that number out of my tailpipe.

On a more positive note, this suggests to me that folks with early reservations are likely to have the opportunity to significantly move up in timeline.

Well I respectfully disagree. I tried to preorder a second Slate just like Sandy Munro .... as an experiment (no reservation) ... and all I see is a delivery window in 2027.

I emailed Slate too ask them to check the box for me that indicated I would be open to an earlier delivery time and got this response today (I bet they are really busy right now), "The delivery window will update in the next couple of weeks as all the dust settles from all the activity with preorders - it's been busy!" Since I have an older browser (Firefox 115 esr for Mac OS10) I didn't have any option to check those (missing for me) boxes.

I'm already confirmed for the Q2 2027. I suspect we just need to give them some time to sort the preorders before we can better see where we all land. My reservation was June 17, 2026 and my preorder was June 29.

not sure what you mean by the preorder/experiment part.... I'm guessing you didn't give them a 2nd $300. I'm saying that would do it.

My brother’s window got moved to april-june also, he reserved in April of this year, I reserved on the second day and have the same window. Hoping mine gets shifted to the Jan-March window.

I agree, its kinda concerning that they only have roughly 6 months of production reserved. I think your 5k a month target seems realistic, which means they likely only have 30k orders. Let's hope that's not true. It seems there has been allot of bad press lately, I wonder if that is hurting them.

Maybe they should get some units into our hands a little earlier so we can help spread the word.

I'm sure they have/are/will do their best to get product out asap, without taking too many "quality" risks. Fortunately (IMO), as a "low tech" product, there is really less to go wrong, as we've seen with many new rollouts, that often fail on non-core "car stuff".

The "bad press" stuff was inevitable, given loss of federal incentives and the wierd insistence of so many in media to make comparisons to hybrids, used vehicles or tech features (really?), SMH.

But the Ford UEV "threat" is real. Now, I for one, do not believe that Ford can get a direct competitor in peoples hands at the supposed MSRP (in real quantities), given the history of userous dealer markup and such. I also think Ford did a masterful job in convincing folks with a slick video and "bounties" that they will bring aerodynamic magic that no one else has. It is true that Ford has more resources, but they also tend to give up rather easily when the wind shifts. Who knows.

Finally, there's a reality that there was always going to be that first bumrush of reservations, then a second on price reveal and preorder. Largely speaking - everyone who will risk buying a preproduction concept already has, and there's not gonna be any growth in net orders until these things are out and driving around.

This is what Rivan shipped in 2Q '26. That averages to 4200 units/mo. Probably with some tail bias due to the R2 shipping in June.

And we now know that they're expecting to ship close to 70K units for the year. So that's about half of Slate's max announced run rate (150K).

The company produced 12,613 vehicles at its manufacturing facility in Normal, Illinois and delivered 12,194 vehicles during the same period. Delivery results topped Rivian’s outlook of 9,000 to 11,000 vehicles for the quarter due to robust growth quarter-over-quarter in EDV and R1 coupled with the introduction of R2 deliveries.

As a result of the progress Rivian has made, and the production and delivery outlook for the second half of the year, the company is today raising its full year 2026 delivery guidance from 62,000 – 67,000 vehicles, to 65,000 – 70,000.

I reserved on 7/14/2025 I preordered on 06/24/2026. I have not beed given a delivery slot. I'm in Kentucky which doesn't allow sales directly to consumers. I wonder if that's the reason why I'm still TBD.

I am in KY also and reserved on day one early morning and received a Q2 window.

I ask Slate specifically if being in KY would be an issue and was assured it would not. I also did own research online and does not appear that it will be prohibited, but there a few more steps to complete.
