Ride-Along opportunity in Portland, Oregon

It appears likely I’ll be able to take a ride-along much sooner than I anticipated. This location is dangerously close to my work so it should be quite convenient to hit up during the 5-day(!) event.

My best guess is that these ride-alongs are with the same old models they have shown in California. We'll know soon enough as reports come back. No dash-cover or big red button? Then they've refreshed the vehicle.

Beyond these early events, I have hopes for the next wave of events to be production off the line.

We have been waiting for this! And my city is on the list. Wooo!

I asked about “ride priority” and “reserving rides for current Slate reservation and preorder holders”. The response was “It's first come first serve - try to be there early”, so no actual reservations. At least not at this time.

Yeah, it is a change in language and promise since early this year. But it is hard to say what they'll offer after September. Honestly, I'll be OK with a ride along although not my preference.

The fact that the events were so bare compared to the promise I remember when I first reserved did not make me happy. Finally seeing these events is making me happy. And it might just get some people to continue reservations or pre-orders.

They needed to publish this. Not having it was hurting their credibility.

They were already at the Space Needle. I’m sure they’ll return soon.

I get it. They can solve that with a limited number of sign-up slots available only to pre-order people. Hell, they are building a factory in record time. You tell me they can't work out the logistics of a simple multi-level event reservation system?
