Slate Audio Center Speaker and Tablet Mount Question

Looking at the tablet mount and integrated speaker, the question comes to my mind will slate add the option to place the controls on the passenger side for those who use the tablet mount, what are your thoughts...

If it's hiding behind the tablet the bluetooth controls on the steering wheel might be necessary.

Respectfully, this is a non-issue. Slate has steering wheel controls for the audio....enjoy your audio with tablet and without worry. It makes absolutely no sense to add "passenger side" controls too...and if Slate could be convinced that is was needed, they wouldn't be "free".

I meant moving the controls to the right side of the speaker section so its not behind the tablet and the passenger can have access to them. I do plan on getting the steering wheel control I was just curious what others thought about this or like the idea of the option of having the controls on the right side of the center speaker like this...

Those speaker controls may not be needed if the music is playing from the tablet and the tablet is right there unlocked. The tablet or phone has the same controls...

It's a good observation (now that I understand what you meant).

I can only assume that the designers took everything into consideration and decided having the controls easily within reach was better than having them farther from the driver, who might have short arms and would need to lean over to reach them if they were on the right side.

I am curious about this too. I am absolutely getting a tablet mount for the large on-screen navigation, and I won't be getting the speakers primarily because I'm unsure how they'll interact with my tablet (and also because I don't want to lose the cubby space). I'm also of the opinion that front only speakers are a bit silly in the SUV configuration. It's full sound system or bust for me, and I'm perfectly happy to make do with the speaker mount and my JBL speaker for a few years.

I could be wrong but I don’t think it’s going to be easy to open the storage behind a tablet mount on the T-slot rail below it.

May as well put a Slate Bluetooth speaker in it and control it with the optional steering wheel Bluetooth controller.

I'm thinking that there will be better options for mounting a tablet in the aftermarket.
