They look to be a tab that is formed flat with the rest of the panel then angled up.I'd love to see how the robots pick and place, then weld these two little console mounting tabs in place.
Ah, I should have zoomed in. I see it now. The under layment of opening to stamp the tab cutout tricked me. It's part of the center console baseplate that sits over the main floor pan.
If you look at the Bedboss website, you get a better idea of what it is. It's a floor plate made of a hard plastic composite with a structural foam core. It has mounting brackets that bolt the Bed boss to the pickup box. It has two rails of anchor points for tying down loads. It's a nice piece of kit if one needs more options for tying down cargo and adds a bit more load floor protection.
The level of engineering and industry knowledge demonstrated by Slate is why I have more faith in them to get these done. Most startups spend all there time and money just advertising trying to get startup money. Slate is just jumping straight into what actually needs to be done.Just look at the quality of the frame welds using the laser welding robots!
