I feel like this is more just to attack Slate considering the timing of it. Have trolls say well SEO is going to sell a Gas Truck for 21K. Like in another post they even said it had 600 miles of range. What ICE or HEV Vehicle promotes their vehicle that way. MPG is the only thing that matters to an ICE vehicle.

They could be real but it’s really starting to feel more like this. But maybe their entire marketing strategy is to ride on Slate’s coattails.

Slate was started in 2022, they never went public with their intentions to produce a vehicle until early April 2025 after what seemed to be an intentional leak and had several running prototypes, On April 24th of 2025 they opened up reservations to the general public. To me it seems REO is NOT following the same route as Slate. Right now they are a much bigger risk than Slate has been.

Just happened to get this interview.

No engineers on staff yet. No interior work. Combined with their domain registration date so recent makes this look like nothing more than an idea with a website.

He was also trying to say that feasibility is dependent on these $25 reservations.

I'm not really a die-hard person for gas versus electric, but this interview didn't pass the sniff test and generated immediate doubt from me.

Edit: Ah.. CEO as of two days ago when this interview happened said they're in their "Feasibility Studies" IE: They have no idea if they can actually do it.

He's hoping for funding in November. 15k reservations, which puts gross revenue around 330m which sounds (at that volume) not sustainable to me even though I know it's super-early, but I don't know enough about cost of goods there.

This whole thing, as was already said, feels like someone trying to jump on the back of Slate's hype. He looked at everyone's complaints about the Slate not being gas or not being paintable and said "well what if ~I~ did that?" Scooped up a long disused IP for a car brand, whipped up some AI renders, and sold it to the press. Anything that starts its pitch with talking down another upstart usually isn't a promising start.

Wouldn't be surprised if he's annoyed at the Slate reservations, for all of the little stumbles, Slate and Telo had an actual driving vehicle. Not some random renders that are going to be outsourced to some third party engineering firm. I see nothing but red flags with this guy and I fully expect it to be another Alpha or Neuron.

He's banking on lower emissions standards from the current administration. While the EPA is not enforcing those standards now, he hopes rollbacks will be codified into law.

The 2028 administration could reinstate the CAFE standards that the Trump Adminstration neutered and they would end up with a non-viable product.
