Slate x Crayola Block Party Pictures from NYC! -- July 11, 2026

We're on vacation from Indiana and we're heading through NYC, so of course I HAD to stop at the Slate Block Party when I saw it was happening!

Got to see one of their latest builds (the one in yellow - most of the close-ups are of the latest build). It looked MUCH more polished than earlier build(s) we saw in person!

That harlequin one looks great. I like the white grill, and it looks like they edged all the coach lines and other corners with black tape to give it a more "coloring book" vibe. Love it!

The frunk have a new Slate branded panel? For access maybe?
I always look for those things that may look like refinement, or a model closer to “off the line.”

That's where the 12v battery is.

People on Reddit are reporting that the employees are saying this yellow truck is very, very close to production. It came off the line in Warsaw in some sort of slow test build. Expect a few tweaks, but this is close.

People have noticed an increase in quality of feel of everything.

YES!!! I was hoping that’s what we’d see! Builds off the line as they continue to iterate those polishing touches! Woo hoo!

It would not surprise me, it looked VERY polished and made me even more excited. I can't wait to pick mine up from the factory.

That yellow is growing on me. I am afraid that the $1,550 price tag is going to look reasonable soon. 🤦

The yellow and harlequin were both pickups, but they have different back glass setups:

The former is familiar, I see covers/plugs/fasteners where the SUV hinges go, while the latter adds the CHMSL showing through in the center AND the SUV hinges! Perhaps they were different generations of test vehicles?

I suppose the glass is captured behind the bulkhead, without the tailgate to fold down it can't hinge out and up, but it would be sweet if it was easily removed or especially if it retained the gas struts and could hinge up!
