I really love the possibilities that these collabs bring to the table. I just wish the theming extended to the interior with coordinated door cards and dash panels.

At $1549.99, thats quite a premium price for a wrap over their standard solid color offerings.

What's the difference between this and any of the $500 yellow/green/blue/orange/pink wraps already in the Maker? I like all the colors, but it had better be really nice PPF at that price point...

I'm guessing the Slate group is getting the standard colors with a bulk discount and these collabs are going to be more limited. So the price might be more comparable to the signature (custom) colors in which you would get a $50 discount and the little details (decal, platelet, and fob).

(but I still agree, that it seems a bit steep. The Crayola yellow is my favorite yellow so far, but I'm not sure I like it $1000 more than the other yellows)

I'm really happy to see a Crayola connection. The color Slate I want is "Cornflower Blue.". It is a Crayola color.

Hoping for more than 5 Crayola colors available. Hoping for Cornflower Blue.

Price for branded colors seems steep to me, but I like to think something like this implies we'll be seeing even more interesting collabs in the near future. People and brands will keep becoming more aware of Slate, things like this will make them aware that Slate does collabs and is open to them with brands that aren't obviously car-related...

Oh yeah, colors are made from pigments and stuff. I'm used to "you can't own the color blue" in a digital context. The crayola pigments probably do cost more in a material sense.

There's certainly a licensing fee that's paid back to Crayola too, along with ongoing royalties on every unit sold. Licensing is a big part of Crayola's business.

Cerulean does tickle my inner child, but is it worth a full grand over Mr. Blue Sky, also in a satin finish? That's a hard sell I think without more of a unique distinction between the collab package. One route would be to offer additional accessory options that are only available to the wrap owners. Like collab-matched seat covers with the "crayola signature serpentine" stitching detail or something like that.

Yeah, my brain turned off for a moment when confronted with the idea that printer ink (barely) isn't JUST a social construct.

It does seem like a hard sell, and some other collab details might help...the main problem I see is that it doesn't work well with how Slate has presented wraps. I'm mostly thinking of interviews.

They've made wraps sound impermanent, both for changing styles/owners or from quietly-acknowledged longevity concerns. I think to some extent, they mean to emphasize that the vehicle has longevity and can change without being replaced.

But I feel like it now makes an exclusive wrap a harder sell. I guess someone buying an exclusive wrap would probably be exposing it to less potential damage than the average owner?

I may need to start reading more of the threads about how wraps actually work in detail.

Crayola? This is just moronic marketing. I do not want a Crayola car. Slate should be teaming up with brands that help both ways, with actual synergy.

And what's with the mother and daughter photo? Is the target market of a 2-seater pickup a family? Perhaps she's divorced or widowed.

I was also hoping to see seat covers. I always thought Slate should offer several colors of seat covers to match your wrap. Like really, we have tons of colors for dumb shit like the door armrests, but for the seats we get... black and brown? Come on. And seat covers are the easiest possible thing to change out, and make the biggest difference in the overall look of the interior.
