I didn't realize that the portrayal of a woman next to the truck, without a man, is perceived this way. It could be worse though. Some men die of natural causes, others just leave. I am one of them women who stand without a man next to her cars. All 10 of them partners were still alive when we parted ways. I should probably check on the two that were 24 and 19 years older... 😬

FWIW, The Slate was explicitly designed to have attributes that appeal to women.

Boy did this go downhill fast. I was just hoping to see some of my favorite childhood colors revisited. But not for $1000 more than very similar adult priced colors.

All this other stuff... I had no idea we were this far into the weeds.

If you want to do expensive clothing, like an Indy 500 Pace Car replica, you need more than the paint. It's got to have a not available anywhere else interior, too. And special badging. And some cool stripes. Then you have a special edition car, not just a nice paint (wrap) job.

Wraps look fun, but my understanding is that a wrap that's left applied too long becomes a problem. On plastic that might be especially true.

Here in The Valley Of The Sun the life of a wrap is probably three years, tops.

I'm gonna go commando. Possible exception would be a cab-wrap, knowing it will need a bi-annual refresh. On the bright side, changing the cab color every couple of years could add some whimsy.

This whole thread is making me cranky and crazy. I want code #´s to go with the colors. I don´t care if they are Hex, RGB digital or CMYK. I WANT numbers, not cute marketing names! That way we can track down swatches or paint chips, and She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed will know what she is getting.

The more "grown-up" version of this collab would obviously be Pantone. Had to go back to 2024 to find a decent "color of the year" though.

Nice, but the Missus hates it. . . We are looking at ´greens´ and ´burgundies´. LaSalle green is close but I want to see the exact color chip for what Slate has for the ´standard´ wrap. Also, as an alternative, the range of ´burgundies´. I want to see the color with my ´Mark-1 Human Eyeball´, not a computer rendering.

Hot take: Does the entire family need to be shoved in the pickup every day? No.

A two-seat pickup is fine in a family when you've already let Karen have her Suburban RST to run over the other soccer kids with.

That's why I think Ford's also getting it so wrong with their 4 door pickup EV. Stop trying to shove the entire family in it and make it a "family" vehicle. It needs to be a pickup. Stop making it a whipped vehicle for Dad to kowtow to cattle hauling.

We grew up fine on two-door standard cabs and second SUVs for the family. Hell, the first truck I learned to drive in was a two-door Ranger. There's no need to mangle the missions together of these vehicles.
