What really impresses me is that for all the companies I worked for, we never gave the world any inkling of this kind of access. It is pretty much "out there" for Slate to show so much. Just ask Ford, they still have a skateboard with cardboard boxes covered in blankets as their "Fathom" that the internet has turned into fantastical AI renderings.

Sometimes @007 is a truth teller, and this is one of this times. I agree. This is a marketing video.

This is not the "factory running at production," and to Slate's favor, the presenter even mentioned that "we're going to a back room to show DVT instead of PVT". They were honest about it.

I find it a bit irritating. I had hoped the factory would be humming. But it is not.

A month or two ago a Slate representative said (maybe Chris Barman?) that they will be installing factory elements to the end of summer. I jokingly suggested that means until September 23.

It is not a joke. They are still building the factory, and I would suggest that goes on until the end of September.

They are very aggressively moving forward. PVT (production verification) will probably be in October and November (which is extremely short and aggressive!) and production will start in early December with the first trucks going right to customers (likely friends of Slate). Don't expect to see production vehicles in the ride-along events.

I've simply never seen anything like this. This early production stuff is never exposed to the public.

I am happy that Slate is doing this. It is amazing. There will be all kinds of criticisms (some have already started), but it is just so darn organic and real -- while still being a marketing video. Those two things are in tension.

I'm sure Ford nerds, employees and dealers are analyzing these videos frame by frame, and setting up their bots or chat groups to brigade* reddit and facebook. We've already seen very clear evidence of brigading by some group on reddit.

Did they show it during production line bring up? That's what strikes me as being so unusual. Slate is exposing the warts and turds before production. Some of our members have already pointed out the turds on the whiteboard!

I've seen plenty of production line videos, but nothing this early. I'm not saying they don't exist, I'm just saying Slate is pretty darn open compared to the typical crusty "Big 3" automaker or other Megacorp manufacturing entity.

Also something to consider is some on the forums have been on here since the beginning and some have just joined recently.
Just like previous posts on “repeated” or “nothing new” comments, I personally don’t mind.
The repeat of some information is inevitable as time moves forward and Slate releases more marketing videos.
I still get a kick out of them, and if others don’t or are tired of them, that’s okay too!
