Tell Me More About This T-Rail You Speak Of

Looks like a bunch of the hold-down/attachment options both inside the cab and in the bed are various lengths of T-rail. Is that just extruded aluminum like this

By the way, the prices you see above are per inch, not per foot.

Seems perfectly reasonable inside the cab and in the bed if the loading was appropriate. It doesn't seem like a great option if the load is directed along the slot, as you'd be relying on how tightly you cranked on a knob or a bolt for friction.

Alternatively, if it's something else entirely and you know what it is, please share with the class.

I doubt it's an 8020 compatible extrusion profile. Those use metric sized connector bits.

I use 3/4" t-track for making woodworking jigs, and it looks much closer to the squared off cross section seen in the configurator.

Here's some detail pics from an amazon t-track listing. Not saying this is the exact dimension of the stuff Slate is using, but I'd be surprised if they're using a different profile as this is pretty ubiquitous.

Would be nice to know if the RAM Track Ball T-Bolt attachment with various ball size options would fit the Slate dashboard T-track. Example link: https://rammount.com/products/rap-354u-tra1

It would be handy for many things, like my Garmin GPS/Nav for example.

Have been wondering about the T Rails as well. If I end up with a Slate, I'll 100% be integrating 8020. A video detailing all the current configurator options and possibly others would be great. Ideally showcasing creative non-OEM uses.

Outside of my immediate use, I would be interested to see BOTT/Systainer in addition to Milwaukee Packout. The configurator doesn't provide much detail in general, but looking forward to some specific measurements pertaining to t-rails.

What is unclear is the panels underneath the T-tracks. Are they unique to cars that have ordered the T-tracks, or is it simply the base trim piece and the track screw to the face?

I'd be surprised to see them stocking this many levels of interior trim pieces, but simply bolting T-tracks to the face of a trim panel sounds very "hillbilly" to me (apologies to any hillbillies I've offended)
