Nothing new in my opinion. No pictures of the line humming at speed or anything.

The manufacturing manager did mention that the Warsaw area has skills due to it being a hub of orthopedic equipment makers. Oh, and RVs up the road.

My comment: They better choose former RV workers carefully because they have a poor reputation, earned or not.

As a matter of fact, Slate hired a bunch of factory workers from the former printing company (RR Donnelly) including the facility manager. Who would have more knowledge of the infrastructure than him?

I am wondering about simple Mud Flaps ?

Min flaps are not generally a standard item on EVs. They are a hit on aireo and therefore reduce efficiency. They will likely be an available accessory at some point. I have set for my Lightning, but have yet to mount them.

Any word on a soft top?

I forgot who I talked to about it but it sounded like Slate is focused on the SUV Kits for now. I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't an aftermarket soft top made for the SUV kit a couple years from now or less.

Yeah, it's pretty crazy, but if you think about the whole assembly line is basically one big machine and that concrete is the backbone of that machine.

Some portion of the original floor was brick, with a layer of concrete on top. There's some demo pics in this old thread.

I did note mention coming from the Slate employee of the factory being able to build as SUV on the line, which may be a big plus for some, especially those needing a complete vehicle delivered for transport to Hawaii.

Did anyone mention Hawaii in the video ? Live in Hawaii. Ordered one and they said in a phone call that they are working on the shipping to but feel confident they can do it. Anyone hear anything

I was referring to you few who are participating and in Hawaii. Mention was made that the vehicle needed to be delivered direct from the manufacturer to the shipper at the port to get it there without paying California tax, adding difficulty to getting it with the SUV kit. A factory install would skip that issue.

It's probably not brick but rather wood block. A lot of manufacturing plants built in the early to mid 1900's used hardwood block flooring rather than concrete. This allowed for easy reconfiguration of the manufacturing assembly line(s) if required for new or different products. Usually, the blocks were covered with creosote or a tar. Harwood block is highly durable as a factory flooring material.
