What'll be the first things you do when you get your Slate?

What will be the first things you do when you get your Slate?
First I will do a complete walk around to make sure nothing has fallen off or looks like it might fall off.
I will then sit inside and connect my phone or tablet to it, I assume the App will be available before the first Slate is delivered.
I will then check the charge, if it is not fully charged I will connect it to my home EVSE to make sure the AC charging works.
I will then drive it some to run the charge down to about 50% then go to our local Tesla supercharger to make sure it will DC fast charge.
Then I will take it on a short road trip, try to figure what the mi/kWh is going to be, at the end of the day I will charge it at home to make sure it is ready to go the next day. While Charging I will put on my First Shift Decal, I don’t think they will do it before shipping. Then take it out and check the range on one of my typical backroad trips in the mountains. It will be fun and interesting.

You bring up interesting logistics! In my state, when you buy a new car at a dealer, they deal with the DMV inspection and get you registered. Not sure the delivery partner* will do that or not.

Same here the dealer is supposed to handle paying the taxes and registration, not sure how Slate will handle that. But they still have several months to work on the not pickey stuff before first deliveries.

I'd think someone here with a Tesla can explain it to us. I'm certainly curious.

when I bought my maverick (out of state) the dealer sent me a check (rolled into financing) and the manufacturer title for me to bring to the DMV to register, and title

For both Tesla's that I bought new, Tesla handled all the paperwork just like a dealership would. I left Tesla store with a temp tag and permanent tag arrived in mail a few weeks later. The only curve ball I had was that when I bought the 2018 I lived in PA but bought at a Tesla store in MD. PA has an annual safety inspection that the MD store wasn't licensed/qualified to do. I had to take it to a shop in PA to get the inspection done when it was brand new. Fortunately, GA doesn't have any annual safety inspections, just emissions which EV's are exempt.

Edit: On the 2018 I left the Tesla store with a MD temporary tag and a permanent PA registration/license plate arrived in the mail. There were Tesla stores in PA at the time but the closest one to me was in MD.

Tennessee used to let them do it that way, but not any more. I bought a Pontiac Solstice in Florida, they had to handle the registration and taxes, but they held out too much and later sent me a check for the difference.

Yes, if buying at dealership in State. Drive it home they call when they receive the plates.
a friend recently bought Silverado EV in FL and shipped, so familiar with the proceedure.

Park it somewhere public, "hide" nearby within view, and vicariously bask in the attention it gets.

Really though, after checking it out in my driveway, probably drive it to the park and just enjoy it for a while
