Will a spare tire, donut fit in the Frunk?

I don't want to buy the full size spare tire. Will a donut mounted on a wheel fit in the frunk?

Twice.

Once while taking an off-road trail and the tire just came out of the bead from sliding sideways for a few inches, pop, PSSSSST, flat, spare, tire-shop just re-seated it and back in business.

The other time was when there was some construction, caught a small chunk of concrete that bounced out of the construction site into my path, ran it over, heard a pop... and yup, that concrete had a bolt embedded in it when it was still whole and that bolt was now in my tire.

In just the past year I have once, ran over something on I-10 that stuck in the sidewall, by the time I got to the shoulder and stopped, it had come loose and tire was flat. Was going to be 90 minutes for roadside assistance, had to stand on and bounce on the lug wrench to get the nuts loose.
Last decade, probably 3-4 times.

Twice in the last four years. One probably could have been taken care of without actually putting on the spare, but it was a busy day and it was easier to change it and drop the tire off at the shop while I went to work.

Matt & Karen, Welcome! Yeah, we’ve beat this subject to death (I’m particularly responsible). The short answer is probably, and we have at least 3 threads dedicated to spare tires, including frunk spares. Hit up the search feature and dive into the respective rabbit holes.

I think the answer is maybe "just fit" on a full sized, it would be leaning back and basically make the frunk useless for anything else. A donut likely will fit, but again, take up most of the space. Donut behind the passenger seat may make more sense, there may be plenty of space there.

It's been over 20 years for me. I've had punctures in that time, but only very slow leaks.

In about 2018, I got screwed (as in a screw in the tire from construction) and was stranded on the side of the road. I was hoping that I'd manage to make it off the freeway, but the leak was too severe to get off an exit. Fun times. Only tire-related incident I've had for 20 years.

No one's suggesting use a random compact car donut, probably wouldn't fit at all anyway. But a properly sized donut, used as intended, with speed and distance limit in mind will do.
