Due to teen drivers, I've been relegated to only having my motorcycle. So I'd really, REALLY like my vehicle before the really cold weather hits.
Thus "earliest available delivery window". C'mon Nov/Dec delivery!

I wonder why this is happening? Either there are fewer orders than expected. Or the assembly line is running better than expected. Or it really won't happen.

Today was first business day after closing the 30 day preorder window. I think this was a planned clean up.

I don’t see any delivery options to select on my Slate. There is a box now that says “default shipping” in addition to my previous “Jul - Sept 2027” delivery window. I clicked on the default shipping box but it is not a link.

I had April-June. Now I selected May. I am still trying to avoid State Inspections in PA in any winter snows. I suffered through enough with my current March Inspections on my car.

Moved mine up to December. I admit a bit of concern. Their allowing the move to an early date says low order numbers. But, I did sort of expect that. This is a new company with a new product and judging by what I read in the forums and see on You Tube, there is a lot of concern among the younger crowd about the usefulness of a 2 door small pick up. I just hope they find a sweet spot between production and sales.

There are a lot of people that won’t commit to potentially loosing $300

Many have stated they need to see, touch and drive it first - I don’t blame them, I’ll be interested to hear their thoughts

it will be interesting to see if they do purchase how long their wait will be

I just left mine on earliest available. I think the main purpose would be for if you want a later window, say you don't want the truck until March, or June, etc.
But it says: "If possible, would you be interested in an earlier delivery window?"

I'm not touching mine yet.

I vote for this explanation. While pre-orders were still live the best Slate could do was to assign quarterly blocks on a first-come first-served basis.
Now that pre-orders are closed they can attempt to satisfy customer preferences. It does say "if possible". We can't all get ours on Day 1.
