I know it was suggested in jest, but Formica actually has some great products, it's not the same stuff from the 50s. I used their "mirco-dot" texture laminate for some shelves and woodshop work surfaces, and it's awesome and hard as nails. Full sheets of plywood glide over it with very little...
That specific wrap was made for an article and photoshoot for Outside Magazine. There's a couple more images of it in the Palm Springs desert.

Slate's DIY ethos is for everyone, at every skill level. Don't need a video? Cool. You can print out the instructions instead. Or, crack open the box, look at the parts, and figure it out on your own. Nobody is making anyone watch videos. But therey're there for the people that do need or want...
Spent a little money back when the wrap names had 1:1 matches to 3M's line. Will wait until things settle before I do that again, rather than guessing.
There's a black lip on the truck tailgate, that looks like it was removed for the slantback config. We've actually seen very little about the slantback, even at the price reveal the only one was up on top of a shipping container, out of reach.

What's interesting about that peg-board display is that it shows the full headlight bezels (term ?) are also customizable, in addition to the square turn signal covers.
Our beaches may be colder, but Washington does have the only sandy beach airport in the US, in Copalis. Pilots are instructed to watch out for clam diggers on approach! :)
I only get gas at Costco, and even they have ads playing on their pumps now. But they're pretty quiet, and just promote the $8 car wash, so it's not terribly annoying.
The quote I heard from their wrap guy was "We'll connect you with a designer." I would also think they would want to keep the work internal, but it was a vague comment.
I believe that $1599 price is just to print the custom wrap, same as the custom color options in the maker. You'll still need the services of a designer to do the layout and prep the files if you're not savvy enough to DIY that part. It's unclear whether that will be an internal Slate team, or...
