Special Q&A for Reservation Holders w/ Slate Auto CEO

The cargo kit may not require the removal of the back wall of the pickup cab, possibly only the back window which would be used on the back of the cargo kit.

Special Q&A for Reservation Holders w/ Slate Auto CEO

This would be my first EV, and probably the first EV interest for a lot of people. I have been watching and reading all I could on Lucid, but they are in the $80,000 to $250,000 price range. I had no interest in Tesla or Rivian or the others. I think there will be a lot of questions not directly...

Special Q&A for Reservation Holders w/ Slate Auto CEO

They reached over 100,000 reservations in a little over 2 weeks. I wonder how many there are now? This group seems big, but only about 1,500 members. Hopefully they will try to answer the most asked questions.

    New EV worries

How many Polestar vehicles are sold here? I would like to see and test drive a Byd truck, but there is some reason (besides tarrifs) they are not even trying to sell here.

    New EV worries

I think the issue is US has crash tests, and cars sold here have rules to follow, what is OK to sell in China does not necessarily pass our codes. Are air bags required in China?

    New EV worries

As a new - first time -;(not yet- ) EV owner what do I need to know about batteries? I am currently having to replace a 4 or so year old battery in a 2011 Hyundai Sonata, on it:s second battery, less than 4 years on this battery. My 2012 Tundra is on battery #2, my 2003 Tundra lasted over 10...

Will you be installing a Level 2 charger?

Would this type plug work with the cord Slate shows? This is 120 Volt - 20 Amp. Would this be much of an improvement over the 15 Amp plug? Would that need to use a larger wire and larger circuit breaker? If you could get 17 Amp would that even be much different than 12, enough to notice? How...

Poll: Which part of the Slate website are you looking forward to the most?

I'm looking forward mainly to pricing, so I selected base price and options price. I would like to find out more about the slant back top, if you can get the top only or if you have to get the roll bar and seats, which I don't want. Also someone mentioned the back window doesn't open on the...

    Slate Auto vs Mutiny Motors

This little Mitsubishi truck is at a local garden center. It probably never leaves the lot. It looks a lot like the Mutiny. There are some other similar size trucks around here I see on the road. It seems like someone was importing them 10-15 years or so ago. I haven’t seen one up close to see...

Anyone else have Chris Barman randomly like your FB posts?

Is that link safe? I clicked on it and it told me I need to sign in. I am already signed into Facebook. Why would that link want me to sign in again?

The Hypothetical Vehicle I Would Chose Over The Slate

Another choice could be the new Scout in 2027. It will be made by VW, and use some Rivian electrical parts, possibly more. It has a 350 mile range on battery, but you can get the Harvester model with a gas powered generator to get a 500 mile range. It is a larger vehicle similar size to Rivian...

Will you be installing a Level 2 charger?

The Level 1 and Level 2 NACS charger may look something like this from Lectron. It has two separate plugs.
