Will Slate be installing the mandated technology that monitors the driver and passengers inside the vehicle? Not only the speed but what's being said is also being reported.
Hopefully Slate takes a chapter from Henry Fords build them all the same, you can have any color as long as it's black and build a lot of them at low profit so everyone can afford a new vehicle. Henry made millions of model t Fords with very little design change. VW made the bug for decades...
At least it's some good news... maybe Slate can hold the line on it's price .... with tires costing more and wearing out quicker, states charging more for license plates(not getting their gas tax). Charging costs and probably a tax on that ...what do I save?
That reminds me,on lowering the cost of the build, are the brake pads and other maintenance items already off the shelf items being used in other vehicles? Seems to me it would definitely lower design and maintenance costs
Hope they don't cave and add a bunch of crap....build the blank slate as is.....all the same(crept battery choice) Get the assembly line rolling! All the goodies that people want they can add themselves later.
It's a blank slate....build as plane jane as you can. Then, continue to build it for years and years like VW did with the bug.Dont change anything .Don't give in to options...that can come with accessories and aftermarket support. Keep the base model simple....reliable....plain.
