What will take for Slate to Succeed?

I feel like they'll get a good amount of fleet sales, about 30k Mavericks were sold to fleets, that's almost half what Slate would need. I feel like the blank Slate is made for fleets with none of the stuff they don't want, and maybe they'll even give fleets a discount like regular automakers...

Release Day! What pleasantly surprised you. What mildly disappointed you?

I'm really pleasantly surprised by the battery option, it just makes sense now every Slate truly will be identical coming off the line. Also the solar tonneau option is really cool, great for camping or tailgating with a mini fridge and tv or what not. I also feel like they're trying to steer...

$30K Ford Ranchero EV Pickup - News & Info

The proportions strike me more like a Smyth Charger Ute, which if they lean into that could be good, the roofline is just way low, which I get for aero is good, just like Farley said not really truck-like.

Slate Maker fender flares shift tires outboard? Possible wheel spacers?

Why doesn't it allow wider tires? Especially with the lift option. Do you mean we just can't select rims with wider tires in the maker right now? Even if not we could still get our own aftermarket rims that would allow wider tires, probably like bloo says just their AI showing what it...

Why do YOU want a Slate?

I have a 2000 Ford Ranger Electric and initially didn't sign up to reserve a Slate as my Ranger is fairly comparable on everything but power and range, and for small EV trucks power isn't super important. Basically this would be an upgraded version of what I have. But, I'd like to sit in one...

    The perfect Slate customer

I just went with the 3 categories to keep it simple, but here's my thought on it, actually they don't make the Lightning anymore so maybe should've gone with a Silverado or Rivian truck

The 'Slate' effect, will we see a wave of retro EVs like early 2000s cars?

Yes the Chinese definitely went full on with the EV is a smartphone, down to the you should buy a new one every 3 years or so. I read an article where one of the top brands, maybe BYD, would make a car for one model year, and then not even a year later have a new model, but still be making the...

THERE WILL BE A TIME WHEN IT JUST WON'T GO

Why are you here? Are you a prospective buyer? This comes across as just fear uncertainty and doubt. In the EV world known as FUD. Like you can't charge in the rain kinda junk. If it's an attempt at humor it's failing, bad, and I agree with others coming across as spam. -Jim

The 'Slate' effect, will we see a wave of retro EVs like early 2000s cars?

I think it's a bit of a grey area, Ford announced their skunk works in 2024, and I feel like it was a reaction to actually the Maverick vs the LIghtning sales they were seeing, as well as China and Tesla. But then after the Slate was announced Ford announced more details(though no photos) of...

What side will Charging Port be on?

All our cars have the port on different spots, our driveway is on the left side of the house if facing it, goes all the way along the side, and we added a pad to the right in front of the house so we don't have to do the hokey pokey to get out. The charger is on that front left corner, the...

The 'Slate' effect, will we see a wave of retro EVs like early 2000s cars?

Oh man if Toyota used their C-HR platform and made a REV4 little sport utility that'd be sweet!

What side will Charging Port be on?

I think, and hope that the facility tour chassis was a beta one they were trying out and they finalized on driver rear. Using a NACS and using the Tesla Supercharger network, the driver rear is the best position as that is what most superchargers are configured for, with fairly short cables. -Jim

The 'Slate' effect, will we see a wave of retro EVs like early 2000s cars?

This past weekend I went to Radwood Charlotte, which is a car show for 80s/90s cars and trucks. I brought the Power Ranger as I have in previous years, but it got me thinking about a car show for all the retro styled cars in the late 90s/2000s. Cars like The New Beetle, Mini Cooper, Plymouth...

Poll, how old were you when you got a vehicle with power windows?

Actually I remember I had a Subaru Brat that I never got roadworthy so technically I had 6 cars before getting power windows: 86 Chevrolet Celebrity - Crank 84 Isuzu P'up - Crank 91 Pontiac Sunbird - Crank 96 Dodge Neon - Crank 85 Subaru Brat - Crank 1994 Ford Ranger - Crank And then all power...

    Intrasting video

It's not a red flag for me as my company did this just last year. We had just a CEO the first couple years when we were less than 50 employees, as we ramped up and our customer base grew we got a CEO to focus on the business operations, and our current CEO became President to focus on customer...
