I'm "That Guy" who as little as a month ago swore I would never drive a battery operated vehicle. We just purchased a new gas SUV and while at the dealership was looking at their all electric version and even the salesman was as anti EV as I was.
Then Slate came along. I guess for me it was...
If you look at all the options a base Maverick has and try to match those options on a Slate then $40k plus is possible. They may have also factored in inflation until 2027.
I also think Trump will keep the incentive in place as a reward for Musk. It also wouldn't look good if he kills the...
If anyone picks up Slate it will be Bezos and Amazon. I think Jeff Bezos wouldn't pass on the opportunity to knock Elon down a notch. Amazon already has the Direct -to-Consumer logistics in place with a distribution network equal to the USPS and UPS. It's not a far reach to see your Slate...
I have a feeling that the frame may be sourced elsewhere and just assembled at the plant. As you can see with all this latest tariff mess a single vehicle currently can have parts and assemblies from 5 or more locations. Body frames I would assume can be made almost anywhere pre coated. I...
I think they're going to have to keep it in the $20k range assuming the $7,500 government incentive is still there. Don't forget, you need to fork out at least another $500 for a wrap. If they loose the incentive then they are directly competing with the Maverick and I think they will loose...
Boron - Just had our new SUV ceramic coated about a month ago and the detailer who did it for me turned me on to the new best thing in coatings, Borophene.
Like we all do I turned to YouTube to educate myself. Low and behold it's not just an awesome ceramic coating it's also an awesome...
That's how it goes. I was one of the first to reserve an Elio and we seen how that worked out. Most people here probably never heard of an Elio but there are way too many similarities between these two companies.
Paul Elio was a Detroit GM Engineer who started the company. Elio repurposed...
That's why Slate is going to sell thousands and thousands of 2D trucks. I agree with everything you said but there is a huge market still for 2D trucks and Slate will prove that.
Ford and Toyota will end up playing catch-up once they see the results. I owned 3 small Toyota trucks and recently...
Fortunately I don't have to drive in that much snow here in Virginia and when I do I take the AWD SUV. If the electric motor drives both rear wheels and the battery is centered it should be relatively good in snow. May have to swap out snow tires like I did decades ago in upstate NY during the...
The fleet sales for this truck may be equal to or greater than regular sales. Huge tax incentives for business going green and size/price are perfect for many businesses not to mention decreased maintenance costs.
Bed is bigger than the Maverick and how often do you see people in the back seat...
If left in the sun you can probably get about 5 years out of it. Go with a light color so it doesn't soak up heat. Coat it, wash it every few weeks and use a spray ceramic topper when you wash it and you'll be fine. If garage kept it could last many many years but I don't have that option
Someone will make an after market plug and play radio for the dash, it's a no brainier money maker.
I get the feeling some of these people would rather amputate their arm before they go anywhere without their cell phones
