Yeah, if youâre not familiar with driving 1p it takes time. My Lucid is smooth in bumper to bumper traffic with either Hands Free Drive Assist or Adaptive Cruise. The Slate will not have either of those so itâs up to the driver to learn the ins and outs of the regen on the vehicle to avoid...
UmâŠno they were driven from the market by the Big Three cause they wanted to only provide options that provide them much larger margins. Henry Ford wanted cars for all Americans. CEOâs and Board Members want houses on at least 3 continents.
The average price of a vehicle in the US is $50k...
Iâm just going for a blank slate. Being an OF I have lots of old tech about so I can stick whatever in it â old iPad, speakers, etc⊠Itâs not going to be my primary vehicle, more of a drive around town, do chores, and something my wife will drive since she finds the Lucid intimidating.
Just on...
Scratching my head over why 1 v 2 pd is a deal breaker. Iâve driven EVs since 2017, 4 and 2 wheel, all have regen and 1p (1T) driving. Personally I prefer 1 pedal driving and consider it a perk of EV vehicles. While all my vehicles have 1 p(t) capabilities they all have brake pedals (levers)...
Yeah, good thing a braking system is still standard equipment đ the only EV I drive that doesât display this behavior is my BMW CEvolution motorcycle which has good regen and I hardly ever use the brakes so I guess thatâd make it a 1T?
Anyway, most EVs scale back regen whenever the battery is...
When I purchased my Bolt in 2017 1PD took about 20 miles or so to get used to it. I have my Lucid set at the highest level of regen which means it basically acts like a brake when I let off the pedal. The regen in my Lucid is much more pronounced than the Bolt.
Want 2PD? Youâll have it every...
Just wondering what folks think the actual number of orders will be since the $250 pre-order down payment is more than the $50 reservation and not refundable. Out of the 150k+/- reservations what percentage do you think will carry through with the actual purchase?
If there are thousands of Slates on the road thereâs no telling what kind of mods 3rd party folks will come up with. Plus, if you have one, just fire up the 3D printer and print some of your own design.
Aptera appears to be caught in the R&D loop and is struggling to step across that horizon into production. If these are production vehicles on the line in Warsaw then that means all the testing for US/State regs have been passed and are not âproduction intentâ models Ă la Aptera. So these...
Ford, GM, and Stelantis (Chrysler) have all demonstrated that they donât really grasp the EV market with the exception of the Bolt which, being a clear Detroit winner, Chevy immediately pulled it off the market, brought it back, and is rumored to be âre-purposingâ the factory where it is built...
The really big plus of Carvana would be if they had the ability to hassle free register Slate vehicles in any state. Getting a Lucid registered in CT was one hoop after another and only took 8 months after an online purchase along with at least 3 temp tags. New and used car dealerships have...
Probably just pick up a wireless CarPlay unit and use it. iPhone stays on me, instant on when I get in, along with access to nav/tunes/etcâŠthrough CP. Of course, not sure where the power source is - USB plug? If not I have battery chargers I can stick on whatever I end up with.
Level 3? At what cost? Lucid plans to go âeye off, mind offâ level 4 in their new mid-size (Cosmos/Earth) by 28 as long as you have a subscription of up to $199 a month. So if Ford actually pulls off Level 3 in a 30k pickup Iâm betting theyâll have a nice subscription charge for the ADAS. Do I...
