Great comment! This will be my only car. I currently have a 24 year old car that I'm trying to keep maintained before I can get my Slate. I've never had a new car in my life, this will be my first. I hope more people will find out about the Slate.

I thought you made an important point, dark or not. Same thing with Boeing, which used to be a company known for great engineering. It went wrong when McDonnell Douglas took over and Boeing became more focused on financials than engineering.

Slate does have engineers in management. I'm hoping that it remains an engineering focused company, not bean counting focused. To that end, I hope they don't go public any time soon.

I'm very glad that the payload is higher than expected. I had planned to get the extended range battery since I will be doing road trips. But with the new battery, I won't have to deduct an estimated 300 lbs from the payload. I will still need to deduct the weight of a cargo kit/Squareback...

Hoping Slate comes out with the frunk inside dimensions and puts them on the Specs page. My 55 quart cooler is 27 in x 17.6 in x 17.25 in and I'd really like to put it there instead of in the back. I'm not about to fill the frunk itself with a bunch of ice.😉
