This pic would indicate that the panel at the front of the bed will not lay flat, but will have to be removed completely to open the back of the cab to the bed.
The window on the other hand appears that it will flip up in position.
The conversion from manual to automatic windows was brought up recently. How does that conversion take place? A simple self contained motor battery assembly that fits over the crank shaft or a complete motor electric connection inserted in the door?
Thanks.
Iāll go away now.
Does the lower āmid-gateā panel fold down or does it need to be removed completely when opening up the bed? Likewise, can the glass be folded up or does it need to be completely removed?
Iām wondering if that is a simple battery operated electric motor that will fit over the crank stub after removing the handle. Since the owner is doing the installation it would likely not be subject to any of the safety regulations. š¤
I think he has āSlowedā down a lot in the past couple of years. I followed him closely two years ago and his speech pattern has changed significantly in that time. But I guess I have slowed down significantly too.

Of course it has to get past our current administrationās tariffs and still be competitive.
I agree that small light trailer would be your best option. So you canāt dolly a vehicle with front tires on the ground? Havenāt I seen tow trucks towing that way?
I am
Not aware of a an EV that is suitable for flat towing. That doesnāt mean there isnāt one, but none I know of.
The issue is with electric motors regenerating under tow. That electricity has to go somewhere and there in lies the problem. A normal regen is short and limited. An EV being...
Yeah, thatās too bad. It kinda assumed to be a standard feature on an electric vehicle. Both my Lightning and my EV6 have some level of V2L support.
But hey, Iām still on the Slate Team and hope they can meet their goals and our expectations.
GO SLATE!!
I am super satisfied with my Lightning and will be holding on to it for some time to come. The Slate will be my run about/off grid camping machine. (No rock climbing be considered.) Just primitive camping sites.
I spent just under 80k on a first generation Ford EV truck so whatās 20K on...
