Backup Camera display screen in gauge cluster (in-action while reverse)

Looks the backup lines are fixed like the original backup cameras that came out years ago.

Your Photo / Question Requests? -- Seeing Slate Truck In Warsaw This Weekend

This pic would indicate that the panel at the front of the bed will not lay flat, but will have to be removed completely to open the back of the cab to the bed. The window on the other hand appears that it will flip up in position.

Your Photo / Question Requests? -- Seeing Slate Truck In Warsaw This Weekend

The conversion from manual to automatic windows was brought up recently. How does that conversion take place? A simple self contained motor battery assembly that fits over the crank shaft or a complete motor electric connection inserted in the door? Thanks. I’ll go away now.

    Robust electronics

And expensive to repair/replace. That will be a worry we shouldn’t have. šŸ¤ž

Your Photo / Question Requests? -- Seeing Slate Truck In Warsaw This Weekend

Does the lower ā€˜mid-gate’ panel fold down or does it need to be removed completely when opening up the bed? Likewise, can the glass be folded up or does it need to be completely removed?

Dashboard Speakers DO NOT come standard, and more audio options in the works [confirmed]

I’m wondering if that is a simple battery operated electric motor that will fit over the crank stub after removing the handle. Since the owner is doing the installation it would likely not be subject to any of the safety regulations. šŸ¤”

Sandy Munro interview on EV trucks, with Slate content

I think he has ā€˜Slowed’ down a lot in the past couple of years. I followed him closely two years ago and his speech pattern has changed significantly in that time. But I guess I have slowed down significantly too.

This might be a Drag on Slates success.

https://electrek.co/2025/06/16/ev-pickup-taking-korea-by-storm-now-its-going-global/ Of course it has to get past our current administration’s tariffs and still be competitive.

Flat Tow support for Slate truck in the works [confirmed]

I agree that small light trailer would be your best option. So you can’t dolly a vehicle with front tires on the ground? Haven’t I seen tow trucks towing that way?

Flat Tow support for Slate truck in the works [confirmed]

I am Not aware of a an EV that is suitable for flat towing. That doesn’t mean there isn’t one, but none I know of. The issue is with electric motors regenerating under tow. That electricity has to go somewhere and there in lies the problem. A normal regen is short and limited. An EV being...

No Vehicle to Load or Outlets in Bed/Frunk

Yeah, that’s too bad. It kinda assumed to be a standard feature on an electric vehicle. Both my Lightning and my EV6 have some level of V2L support. But hey, I’m still on the Slate Team and hope they can meet their goals and our expectations. GO SLATE!!

Slate will manufacture its seats in house at Warsaw factory

I just hope they’re not doing this to skimp on quality material and comfort. A poor seat design will have BIG negative effects on its adoption.

My late mother always told to me to: ā€œLive in Hope or Die in Despair.ā€ Now’s a good time to follow that advice.

Your reservation gets you a Slate test drive in 2026!

I am super satisfied with my Lightning and will be holding on to it for some time to come. The Slate will be my run about/off grid camping machine. (No rock climbing be considered.) Just primitive camping sites. I spent just under 80k on a first generation Ford EV truck so what’s 20K on...
