  1. PSA: Extended Range Battery can NOT be added / retrofit installed after purchase (confirmed by Slate)

What brand of charger does the Costco have? You can down load the app and see in real time if it is occupied, functioning or not functioning. Granted all of that could change at any time
  2. PSA: Extended Range Battery can NOT be added / retrofit installed after purchase (confirmed by Slate)

Would this be your first EV? My suggestion for first timers is go big or go home. Range anxiety can be a killer for some folks
  3. Open Air Kit Body Style question - how do you keep your truck from getting rained in?

I don't like getting rained on either  Been there done that. Just sayin if Slate doesn't take that into account some folks are gonna be disappointed
  4. Open Air Kit Body Style question - how do you keep your truck from getting rained in?

Wrangler is fine after a good soaking. Just let it dry and no harm. Hopefully Slate sates interior fabrics and carpets into account for that option. Otherwise, mold and mildew will be the death of it
  5. Basic questions about one pedal driving (Full regen?)

My 2021 Mach E is still on original brake pads at 103K+ miles with plenty of life left in them. 1pd exclusively
  6. Plug and Charge functionality and Slate Networking

Personally, other than the free sessions given at purchase, I am not a fan of Plug and Charge. I use the different apps so I get the discounted rate.
  7. Are you actually going to BUY the Slate Truck without a Test Drive?

I purchased my 2021 Mach E without ever sitting in one. Never even owned an EV before. My test drive was while they were preparing the paperwork. I drove from TN to Iowa to trade a Jeep on it. Learned how to DCFC on the drive home.
  8. Is ~150 mile range adequate for a fleet vehicle ?

You need to keep in mind the EPA estimates are a combined city and high way driving. Most fleet drivers/pats runners/whatever would be city driving. City driving will net higher ranges than ICE vehicles because there's no idling. Add in regenerative braking and 150 miles would be just fine...
  9. One-Pedal Driving confirmed for Slate truck

Your sons friend is an Id10t
  10. One-Pedal Driving confirmed for Slate truck

I have 103000 miles on my Mach E....still on the original brake pads:cool:
  11. One-Pedal Driving confirmed for Slate truck

For those that can't/won't Google....... It essentially makes it drive like a golf cart. Press large pedal to go and when you release it, it slows to a stop. No need to actually press on the brake pedal. Can take time to get used to for some people. I love it and use it exclusively.....to the...
  12. Slate CEO Chris Barman interviewed. Predicts profitability @ 150k units in 2027

At only $50.....I would think they have to be pretty close already. The F150 Lightning was $100
  13. Gas vs Electric cost

E90400K and FL4XE explain very well that the best case for EV ownership is if you can charge at home regularly and only use public DCFC for road trips. Both very good examples but you should look at your local electricity rates. If you have cheaper rates, say from 9pm-7am, you could save even more.
  14. Slate Target Market Flowchart

I don't think Slate is looking/marketing towards the road trip crowd here. 150 mile range fully charged is not a road trip vehicle. 240 miles fully charged, yes. However, I take comfort into account for a car to travel in and Slate does not even get on my radar for that. Very few of the creature...
  15. Why are folks comparing an ICE/Hybrid to a BEV?

My father in law decided he "wanted" an EV last year. I say wanted because they had a perfectly fine vehicle and only drive about 6000 miles per year. He's 82, and fairly tech save, MIL...not so much. So, I tried to talk them out of it because of the tech involved, phone app as key, charging...
