  1. Why do YOU want a Slate?

Just chiming in to echo most of what's already being said. Small and simple, and all the things that follow from those. I'm not old, but I don't want to have to climb up into the truck I might use for moving the occasional couch. I like easy parking. I like being able to get into the bed...
  2. THERE WILL BE A TIME WHEN IT JUST WON'T GO

Indeed, he did. Mods, if it's not any trouble, could you lock this thread? It will never generate any useful discussion.
  3. Dear Slate, please add the white grill to configurator

Looking at that little piece of trim hanging on a wall suddenly inspires me to plan some really silly things. Perhaps a wrought iron fence looking thing. Perhaps a mossy stone wall made out of XPS foam and lots of faux finishing... If it's really going to be that easy to decorate, I'm going to...
  4. THERE WILL BE A TIME WHEN IT JUST WON'T GO

Hamburger is definitely an underrated pizza topping, especially when you're feeling like meat but not Italian.
  5. The perfect Slate customer

Simple and Electric are why I'm going to buy this. Small and Truck are what got me interested. Customizable (and repairable) just makes me happy about the idea. I'm pretty close to the center of this diagram.
  6. The Autopian sits in a SLATE

“We knew that this thing had to at least be customizable from the ground up, so we wanted to have something that’s very simple, yet, I would say timeless,” I really can't wait for Slate University so I know how serious they are about this. "Ground Up" is so very different from "Slatelets".
  7. SLATE truck attends WORK Truck Week in Indianapolis

It actually seems bigger in person than it does in pictures. The hood is not small and the cabin feels really large. My tall and wide nephew fit quite comfortably when they were still letting people sit in it at events. It's weirdly proportioned, but I'm ok with that. Also, if they can make a...
  8. SLATE truck attends WORK Truck Week in Indianapolis

True, but you say "USB-C PD port" and I'm thinking of something that will charge a laptop, not a phone. That's a bit overkill for a stock feature.
  9. VIDEO: The Rise and Fall of American Small Affordable Pickup Trucks

I wouldn't go as far as to call it a "great" video. The AI got really hard to listen to, and it seemed like about 75% filler. At least it laid out the timeline well and gave a good overview of those three things. I just wish I hadn't had to spend half an hour to get it.
  10. SLATE truck attends WORK Truck Week in Indianapolis

Sounds like the perfect sort of thing to show up in the fabled Marketplace as a bolt-in user upgrade. Same thing with upgraded 120V AC.
  11. Slate (RWD) spotted snow/cold weather testing. AWD version coming says engineer

Ok, if the windshield were more sloped and cab weren't so cavernous I'd have my first customization project right there. (Seriously, it's huge in there)
  12. Slate Price Annoucement Date! "Mid-twenties in late June" -- says Slate

If I had the choice between one and the other, I would pay more for a truck without all the "tech". (/shakes fist at clouds)
