Is FORD Preparing to Release a SLATE Competitor?

I miss Car Talk so much! That was the best show on public radio for decades.

Is FORD Preparing to Release a SLATE Competitor?

If it looks like that, I’ll stick with the Slate. If it’s boxy and kind of retro (like Bronco styling), then I might have a decision to make…

Open Air Mode Slate Pickup w/ Blue Wrap (from Rhode Island event showing)

I think this version might pull in a few people who are cross-shopping a 2-door Wrangler as a daily-driver. The dimensions are very similar, but the Slate looks much roomier in this video.

    Tonneau Cover: Simple & Stylish

Hey Slate- When partnering with someone for the OEM tonneau cover, please design something like this, the RealTruck Truxedo Pro X15 bed cover. I’ve had one. Super simple to install, rolls-up, fits flush with the bed (instead of above it, which looks clunky), and isn’t terribly expensive. It’s...

New Interview with Slate CEO Chris Barman by "The Best One Yet"

Thanks for posting the video. I didn’t know they’d done so many crash tests. Sounds like they are getting close to releasing the production model.

Orange Slate SUV w/ 2" lift, BFG All-Terrain AT T/A tires, upgraded bumper, white roof, roof rack - photos from Cleveland Ohio

Right. I can’t imagine that that’s the tire they’ll go with, considering the lighter options out there. I also think those tires fill the wells a tiny bit too much. The lift looks awesome, though. Looking at these pics solidifies choosing the lift and the 245/70 size for me.

Orange Slate SUV w/ 2" lift, BFG All-Terrain AT T/A tires, upgraded bumper, white roof, roof rack - photos from Cleveland Ohio

Someone in a Facebook group went to see this one. The rep told them it has the 2” lift. I’m pretty sure those are the 245/75R17’s, so 31.5”.

Article: Slate’s Truck was Designed to Break - And for You to Fix It (w/ Slateforums.com mention by Slate Auto)

Thanks for posting! So, they have a bunch that have been crash tested. When do we hear about the results? They’re really focused on that 5-star rating. Also, I think the journalist may be right that the 2-door is their riskiest move. I can’t wait for a single cab EV pickup in my driveway, but I...

Slate vs. Telo - Informative and FUNNY.

He makes good points. I didn’t realize that Telo wasn’t planning to scale up anytime soon. The two companies aren’t really competitors, it doesn’t seem like.

Taller 17" All-Terrain Tires for OEM Wheels

Hey AZ Fox, it sounds like we’ve had some similar experiences. Most of my offroad “knowledge” comes from elk hunting back when I lived in CO and MT. I also did aome offroading when I lived in Flagstaff for a couple of years. Now, I have a little Kawasaki KLX300SM with knobby tires that’s my...
