    This Is So Boring Now

Or better yet, produce a video of a drone flyover of the full assembly line. Like we’ve seen at the Tesla gigafactory šŸ™‚

    This Is So Boring Now

You nailed it! I think what we’re all experiencing is the reality of the ā€œownership lifecycleā€- excitement, research, planning, waiting, anticipation, and finally taking delivery. Year(s) of impatiently waiting, second guessing, comparing, and evaluating our decisions. And suddenly Slate...

šŸ”‹ The Extended Battery Decision (Poll: Which battery option suits you best?)

To your point, Tesla at one time offered an OTA performance boost on certain models that users could access… but you needed to pay for it.

Newsweek article: Update on Slate manufacturing timeline! (On track for late 2026 delivery)

100% agree with your assessment. Slate continues to attract experienced talent, including Napolean Reyes who headed Tesla's Model Y Refresh General Assembly. He is now the Senior Manager, Plant Vehicle Engineering at Slate in Warsaw. He joins Rich Schmidt (former manufacturing director at...

Is the Rivian R3 trying to compete with Slate's Fastback Version?

Slate Fast Back Rivian R3 Don't believe it's a coincidence when looking at the Rivian R3 and the Slate Fast Back version side by side. Interesting that the Rivian is a four door, yet overall smaller in length by almost 13 inches! The two models are compared in the table below (from Bing...

Is FORD Preparing to Release a SLATE Competitor?

Similar story here, saved over $1000 by doing the rotors and pads myself using OEM grade parts. The best thing about Slate is you probably will never worry about pads or rotors with regen braking. Maybe after 100K miles you might want to check your brakes.....LOL.

    šŸ“Š Expected Out-The-Door price for a $25,000 Blank Slate

I recall there was a thread in back in July, "place your bets" on the actual blank slate starting price. I thought you might want to leverage those results into this poll. https://www.slateforums.com/forum/threads/place-your-bets-actual-blank-slate-starting-price-contest.13268/ The poll logic...

Ford announces new base Trim for 2026 Maverick starting at $27,145

Agreed, the Slate is perfect for setting up trade shows, street fairs, exhibits, conventions, etc. Anywhere you can promote your business. Either the cargo version or base pickup would work. I’m currently working on establishing a mobile detailing business, and a Slate (wrapped with my...

Newsweek article: Update on Slate manufacturing timeline! (On track for late 2026 delivery)

I agree with your assessment. That statement by Chris is ā€œout of a different timeā€ when engineering used to push out designs and the shop floor guys would need to figure out how to put things together. I can still recall the words of the Assembly teams, ā€œif you build it to the drawing, it won’t...

Does this tax credit loophole apply to our $50 deposit

I stopped by my local Tesla center for a tire rotation yesterday (believe it or not, due to low ground clearance not a DIY job!) and noticed this sign to entice customers: Was advised this tax credit applies on inventory cars and they will deliver to you at no cost. The full credit is...

Report: Slate Factory Delivery Under Consideration! Would Take Place In This Room

So, for many years of buying automobiles we all just accepted destination fees as the ā€˜cost of doing businessā€˜ at a dealership. Let’s not forget another one of my favorites- ā€œdoc feesā€ which covers the dealership's costs and time spent on administrative tasks for the sale, like processing...

Report: Slate Factory Delivery Under Consideration! Would Take Place In This Room

And if Slate needs to ā€œsellā€ this idea to the town or county that prohibits direct sales, consider that folks traveling to Warsaw might be a boom to the local economy, including hotels, restaurants, and service industries. Some folks might want to make a small vacation when they arrive to make...

Ford announces new base Trim for 2026 Maverick starting at $27,145

And Slate has yet to announce their delivery and fee schedule for regional centers or home delivery. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s $1500 -$2000 additional.

Does the SUV kit make sense?

And be assured that Slate has the same disclaimers and disclosures in their deck. I’ve worked in the corporate arena 44 years and often interacted with Legal and Contracts, before anything is published.

Ford announces new base Trim for 2026 Maverick starting at $27,145

Ford Motors is announcing a new front-wheel-drive version of the '26 Maverick XL trim with the EcoBoost turbocharged engine; previously, this trim was not available. This lower-contented version is looking to challenge the Slate's target price in the "mid 20's" ... by dropping the starting...

Does the SUV kit make sense?

Absolutely! And I think the legal team weighs in and mediates responses from the Slate Agent team. The agents cannot commit to anything, since it might hold Slate accountable in the future. I can envision a customer complaining..."but you said it could do this" or "yes, it has that feature"...

Does this tax credit loophole apply to our $50 deposit

Slate currently doesn't offer leasing as a purchase option but may do so in the future. It's disappointing and a bit of a surprise that Slate is promoting their brand for fleet vehicles targeting the service industry wherein they are typically financed with a leasing arrangement. Personally, I...
