I'm pretty sure a Steep Learning Curve is deliberately designed out of the Slate.
I'm an EV n00b, but it does seem ICE vehicles do have significantly more periodic maintenance items, don't they?
Oil changes, spark plugs, fuel filters and air filters, coolant, belts & hoses...
That's not to...
I'm curious about that too.
A pickup truck Leveling Kit (modest lift kit for the front suspension) is an inexpensive strut spacer that looks something like this:
$42-$109
Remove the strut.
Attach the spacer onto the top of it.
Reinstall the strut.
Possibly get an alignment.
Will the Slate...
Lifting allows you to fit tires that wouldn't otherwise fit. I prefer keeping center of gravity low, so I wouldn't lift unless it's for that reason. Lifted trucks with tires that don't require the lift look goofy to me.
For solid-axle 4x4s lifting the Chassis doesn't necessarily raise clearance...
The reason I like fog lights is because they can be used as driving lights. They create shadows that make it easier to see irregularities in the road because they're mounted low.
Go to somewhere dark, turn on your headlights, then turn your fog lights on and off to see the effect I'm talking about.
Same, maybe with just a few niceties like Door Cubbies (convenience) and Front Light Upgrade (safety). Probably the under-dash speaker holder too (infotainment).
If it wasn't necessary to upgrade the front and rear bumpers in order to get Fog Lights I'd get those too (if the Fog Lights are...
Upon reflection my previous post came off more pessimistic that I intended. Dirt bikes weigh less than half what my bike weighs and they're about a foot shorter. One of those would be easy to put in the bed of a Slate.
Also, that beefy rental trailer is way heavier than a typical motorcycle...
I think Slate is trying to have their cake and eat it too.
Maybe I'm doing some Confirmation Bias here, but I think a lot of Slate owners will get a little gray truck and just happily drive it around.
Personally things like Wheel Decals, Charms for the Dashboard Vents, and (especially)...
That's workable for a dirt bike, but pushing my 500-pound bike that's 7' 3" long up a ramp (which I'd need to buy and then store) and into the 5-foot bed of the Slate wouldn't be a trivial task, even considering the low entry height.
OTOH trailer rental is $15 and it's drop-dead easy to put the...
I got curious about whether I could tow my motorcycle (480 lbs) with a rented trailer from U-Haul, which is something I've done before.
AI Query:
How much does a trailer for a motorcycle from U-Haul weigh?
Response:
A U-Haul motorcycle trailer weighs approximately 870 pounds empty. This trailer...
Mitra Chem (the company in my Shot/Chaser post) makes "cathode products", which I think are what goes inside cells, not the cells themselves.
I should have been more clear about that.
Chamath Palihapitiya, one of the four venture capitalists who are on the All-In Podcast, is on the Mitra Chem...
I'll expound...
TL;DR: When battery technology improves you can cram more readily-available electrons into the same space.
The drill I'm referring to is a Sears. I upgraded to a Bosch years ago. If you use drills very much you've discovered that having two drills is better than having only one...
Good catch! Didn't notice that.
TL;DR: I expect aero mirrors because side-views create significant drag.
I remember seeing in a video where Tesla spent a lot of time designing their sid-view mirrors to be aerodynamic. The upshot was that side-view mirrors impose a lot more aerodynamic drag...
As an EV n00b this is good to know.
My EV experience is with a golf cart. I can count on two fingers the times I almost didn't make it home because I bit off a little more distance than the state-of-charge could chew.
In the cart I always bring along the charger and an extension cord "just in...
