  1. Place Your Bets! (actual blank Slate starting price contest)

I like your reasoning. You somehow barely scrape the top of "Mid-$20's"! Nice hedge.
  2. The Bright-side of the EV Tax Credits Going Away

Yeah, yeah...You'll be posting about the WNBA next and how commercial it's become since CC entered last year. We see you.
  3. The Bright-side of the EV Tax Credits Going Away

I gotta get in on that game then...so that I can gradually become one of them extremely rich persons...one re-sale at a time. Oh wait...BBB...sigh, nevermind.
  4. DIY vs OFT (Open For Theft)

I was kind of thinking something that would mount high on the rear glass and provide a better view? Same for dash cam view.
  5. The Bright-side of the EV Tax Credits Going Away

Preach it, @AZFox. All of the EV credits didn't apply if your AGI > $400K? So, they loop-holed it so that they simply applied it as a business credit to the dealer if they leased it and they discounted the lease accordingly....all of a sudden, voila, rich folks were getting (some) credits too.
  6. DIY vs OFT (Open For Theft)

So, as a thought experiment, will our Slate trucks have a similar hard-wired approach, or something easier (plug-play)? I haven't done the equivalent yet on my Lightning, but will figure that out shortly...though, who wants a panel off of an F150? (They want the tail-lights.)
  7. DIY vs OFT (Open For Theft)

I presume that those all just pulled some juice off of 12V battery and are only activated by movement, which would be a minimal draw.
  8. DIY vs OFT (Open For Theft)

Sorry, I was attempting my best Dave Chappelle question/agreement from the 1980-2000's era of common street vernacular. (https://tenor.com/search/dave-chappelle-word-gifs) Yes, I wasn't implying Slate add that feature. I was implying that if one needed the extra footage when parked, that's...
  9. The Bright-side of the EV Tax Credits Going Away

Don't get me wrong. The tax code is what it is (a 30K pages+ impossibility). I'm not volunteering to ignore benefits as they arise. At this point, the technology needs to stand on its own as an overall best solution for specific use cases (daily driver, small farm truck, golf cart...
  10. DIY vs OFT (Open For Theft)

Amen. I lost the combination to a "Master" lock and needed access yesterday. 22 seconds with a crescent wrench and a screwdriver later, I had access. Jeez. Window dressing. If they want something in public, only you and/or your 4-legged toothy friend, are going to prevent it.
  11. DIY vs OFT (Open For Theft)

I'm now thinking of a good enough front/rear camera that could be run for "sentinel mode" for the Slate when off-duty. If there is already a planned solution, let me know.
  12. The Bright-side of the EV Tax Credits Going Away

"You're welcome" is lost on folks who don't pay taxes or never have. As much as I'm loving my newly acquired Lightning, I'm looking forward to minimizing my daily commuter/golf-cart-replacement Slate. The EV incentives don't matter as I'm hoping for a handy ride that won't have much to break.
  13. The Bright-side of the EV Tax Credits Going Away

Yup. My tongue was firmly in cheek when I typed that. (Unless you live in GA, where we've run a state income SURPLUS for 2 years running and were given $500 surplus bonus refunds this and last year!)
  14. The Bright-side of the EV Tax Credits Going Away

Future generations? Bleh, we are only interested in the next happiness high! Come on, now. Get on TikTok and get with it. Pleasure now. All the time!
  15. Did the "big bill" just end EV Tax Credits for Slates? [WARNING: NO POLITICS]

I met him in Dallas as an 18 year old in the 1980’s and he was very kind to me, so I rebelled against the establishment candidates and voted for him twice in 1992 and 1996. Bill Clinton sent me a personal “thank you” card, I think?
  16. Reservation List - Delivery Order Priority?

That’s why it is a pilgrimage, brother! Not a weekend junket! (I did the touristy Honolulu and Kauai trips decades ago.). We will bring gloves and boots.
  17. Slate’s BYO Infotainment and the possible issue of Temperatures.

The gates of Hell (SW USA) are pretty hot! I don’t think the Carpuride that I was using on my old GX would last a week in that heat!
  18. Reservation List - Delivery Order Priority?

We’ll make the pilgrimage to see you sometime @sodamo! That might throw off my savings plan for the Slate, though?
