  1. Have you come across photos of the under carriage or motor compartment?

I live in NH and the mice like my YJ's wiring as well. I use these to keep them away. (NOT an affiliate link) Ken
  2. The Hypothetical Vehicle I Would Chose Over The Slate

It's a really interesting dilemna. For me it's either the Slate SUV or an older 2 dr Montero/Raider I can restore lol. Ken
  3. The Hypothetical Vehicle I Would Chose Over The Slate

The vehicle I'd choose over the Slate is this: www.ironwoodmotorsusa.com but my guess is that Ironwood is fake or will never happen. But that is only because I live in an apartment and will need to charge around town rather than at home. Ken

lol but plenty of watering holes nearby: The Newport Coffee Grinder, and probably a Del's nearby.
  5. New Slate tour locations & dates! CA, CO, MA, NJ, NY, RI, UT (as of 7/21/25)

I came to Newport, RI today (Mon 7/28) and the truck was there. Maybe a tad hungover, but it was in attendance! In-person is a whole new experience, and I recommend going to an event if you can get there. For a prototype, the build quality was great and the materials all feel solid. We couldn't...
  6. Your questions answered AND 360 photos! (saw white Slate & met team members in Warsaw)

Thank your for the great recon work! We appreciate you! Take that, Ironwood Motors lol!
  7. Double Din Car Stereo Aftermarket Head Unit / Radio Capable (confirmed by Slate CEO)

Right now, I have an iPhone Mini. Screen is too small for me to see a map and drive. If simplicity is the goal, then I suppose an iPhone Max mounted landscape would work well instead of bothering with CarPlay. I would miss the local NPR stations but I guess they each have an app I could use.
  8. Double Din Car Stereo Aftermarket Head Unit / Radio Capable (confirmed by Slate CEO)

@Saint Alban I've owned a few of those for my older Volvo. Each one is crappier and slower than the previous one and gets buggy fast. I'm going to stick with a brand-name this time.
  9. Apple CarPlay Ultra

I agree - sticking with brand-name head units now.
  10. Apple CarPlay Ultra

Those devices are mostly made cheaply with what feels like pirated Apple CarPlay s/w. I have owned 2, and each one lasted about 6 months and then got very buggy. I have one of those older Volvos and the radio is neither 1DIN nor 2DIN so they were the only way to get CarPlay in my car...

  12. Chargeway - the app you'll need

Check it out on your app store. It offers a few neat features that the others don't. Here is a good video explaining the new features.
  13. Chargeway - the app you'll need

lol no. I'm just a school teacher who loves EV tech!
  14. Chargeway - the app you'll need

Chargeway is one of the best apps to help you find the right charger on your route. It might seem optional for cars that have infotainments screens and built-in apps, we know that Slates will not have this tech as standard equipment. So the Chargeway app will be very valuable on your phone, once...
