By that definition my 1990s 4 x 4 Toyota was not a real truck. I hauled a lot of stuff, towed a few things, drove all over the desert/mountains and generally beat the snot out of it for five years. I call it a real truck.

Dealers are known to list bait and switch pricing. I tried looking for a 2014-17 Audi A4 a couple months ago on some of the common sites. Every one I tried to contact told me āno longer available, but we have X.ā I no longer trust not just low but even reasonable advertised prices from dealers...
My 2001 GMC 2500hd 8ā bed extended cab (half suicide door) is 23ā. Maybe the hood on the GMC is longer to make room for the 8.1l. Bollinger just looks longer.
I am sure 4 door 8ā bed Ford/Chevrolet are pushing 24ā

Itās an entirely different level from bolting down seats, roll bar, and plugging in connectors for airbags to an autonomous vehicle system. Not even remotely comparable in technical expertise needed.

This right here. I will not buy a skinny tired little car. The compromise toward efficiency is too far for me. I want a normal robust vehicle that happens to be an EV. Slate is the first one not junked up with extra stuff I donāt want and in a price range I am willing to pay.
