  1. Absolutely buying, but worried about this one thing...

Exposed hardware on the body panels? Gotta be stainless.
  2. Absolutely buying, but worried about this one thing...

I'd think that be normal with all cars until they prove it. I've seen pictures of Kia's(?) new ev's with a deformed panel on the rear from being parked in the sun in TX or AZ. Pl
  3. AM/FM Radio is a safety issue

is that the nature of the signal or do they just have more powerful AM transmitters? I "think" they were allowed to be bigger back in "the day". My city, Fort Wayne, Indiana had an AM station (WOWO) that could be heard over 1/2 the country at night (signal better) when I was growing up. We'd...
  4. How do you feel about Slate's towing capacity?

Munro on the Ford? Or have they looked at the Slate? Towing ratings gotta be tricky. Towing in hilly/mountain places is a whole nuther world from towing in the flat midwest where I am.
  5. How do you feel about Slate's towing capacity?

Uhaul has aluminum trailers in a few sizes. Much lighter, but still not a lot of load left.

  8. AM/FM Radio is a safety issue

What sports are on AM radio? They have all moved to FM channels where there are actual listeners. We have top shelf minor league baseball and hockey teams. Hockey teams been on the air for 50+ years. AM for most of my life. Now on FM. Same with baseball. There are 2? strongish AM signals...

That' is the way some manufacturers are going. Understating range to not get raked over the coals when (some) people get less. Chevy in particular has several models routinely getting 20-50 miles more range than quoted. (for some people)
  12. How do you feel about Slate's towing capacity?

Yeh, maybe on the next round of vehicle development if they make it to that point. My transit connect mini-van with 2.5l 4 cyl tows up to 2500 which would be nice. Tires have to be upgraded to higher load limits ($), wheels might have to depeding on rating as is. I suspect that weight...
  13. I would like a Turbo button, just like on computers in the 80s/90s.

You dumped a whole bunch of gas into the combustion chamber that couldnt' all be burned and it washed the cyl walls of their oil film. Thus, smoke.
  14. Article: "Ford’s $30K Electric Pickup Could Crush Jeff Bezos-Backed Rival"

Lightning was a 1/2 assed EV conversion to a gas pickup. Needed to be dumped. This was in the works long prior to dumping the Lightning. I'd be large that a 30k ev truck WILL do it.
