Excellent point! Actually, I considered CarMax a contender since they partnered with RepairPal in 2017, giving their customers access to RepairPalās network. CarMax also made a five-million-dollar investment in RepairPal at the time. Nobody said the Carvana partnership would be exclusive.
Really?? Not sure what you are talking about. I am referring to an onboard music source unit, something with a tuner, amp, a small dial or display and a way of selecting music inputs. Not a touch screen. Where did i mention a big touchscreen or infotainment screen?
So it appears thereās a lot of discussions around speakers, and Slate has a few options in the Slate maker which can be compared against 3rd party versions, once full specifications are released.
Frankly Iām a bit surprised that Slate doesnāt show any options for an integrated head unit with a...
Interesting! My thoughtsā¦
Anyone want to bet the new Ford EV truck will be revealed sometime in 4Q26 as Slates begin to roll off the production line. Anything to steal the spotlight from Slate.
āFord thinks it can reinvent the electric pickup. Fordās make or break attempt to produce an...
Does this open up opportunities to trade your current vehicle around the time you can order a Slate, assuming a successful future partnership with Carvana? Also they have an established logistics and distribution network. Perfect for rolling out Slates at a location near you.
All operations at most major corporations on the west coast will promptly cease at 9:29 am on 6/24/26.
This might be as epic as the OJ Simpson verdict; even trading was halted on the NYSE.
Thanks to Bailey for this great post from Katie !

I found this comment particularly relevant regarding large central displays that have invaded the interiors of most modern vehicles:
āEnormous digital screens in modern cars, which they describe as attention-dividing and stressful compared to a calm, tactile cabinā

100% agree. Even with a ~35 ft. limited BT range it would be awesome if you could interact at home with your Slate in the garage or driveway. Things like battery status, preconditioning, activating the climate control, schedule charging, or even route planning with charging stops would great...
Weāve been going back and forth on this topic for quite some time. But the general consensus is āyes,ā your phone must be connected in its dock (or equivalent) to access the Slate app in real time. Itās not a remote app in the traditional sense; at this point in time it needs to be tethered...
Well stated. Only one minor observation. While your Slate may not track you, bring your cellphone along for the ride, and your location is being tracked.
Slate says your truck will never track you!

We need to keep in mind many of those early prototypes were full-scale, hand made mock-ups. Meaning they were not able to withstand the rigors of the public pushing, pulling, slamming doors and tailgate, cranking windows, etc. If you ever attended a big Auto Show like NY Javits Center or LA...
Does anyone else find it somewhat amusing that the June 24th announcement aligns with Amazon Prime Day (June 23-26)?
Itās a prime time to pre-order the Slate truck!
Here's another interesting quirk on carsized.com
Begin entering "Sla..." for Slate, and look what pops up....
Carsized does a search on the vehicle name, or any part of the name.
