    I'd love to have them build a selection of customized trucks and then tell us what those will cost once you price in the accessories. The other thing is on the resale size the value of the add-ons is almost zero. If you get a higher trim level of any other car it's going to be worth more.

    There's also a big difference between showing it at a trade show and showing at a public event where there's 5 people, they can't tell you what it'll cost, and it doesn't drive. Public events make a lot more sense when you have a working truck, price tag, and delivery date.

    They were probably surprised during the unveiling that people were asking so many technical questions and realized they need to be able to talk price. Being over a year out, not being able to give a price, and still working on the final design isn't a good recipe for success.

    I agree. The goal right now is to get production off the ground, the sooner they can get truck going out the door the quicker they can start making money. They could even start by using a subcontractor and move it in house in the future if at 150k trucks a year it makes more sense.

    Plugging a car in at night is a whole lot easier than going to gas stations, doing oil changes, etc.

    And that’s where I fully disagree. This only works as a fun secondary car. If you’re lower income and have a max budget of $25k for a primary car you’re buying a Civic over this 99/100 times. Even if EVs get more affordable they’re still luxury items due to all of the constraints.

    Bingo. You don’t get nine figures of investment funds without being able to show a viable product and pricing strategy. Letting cost drive price is a small business strategy and ultimately why most fail.
