I knew wipers were regulated but that CFR doesn't say anything about requiring a fluid. It specifically defines a Frequency and Wiped Area % only.
It references J942(1965) which recommends "An apparatus for storing, filtering, and applying fluid to the exterior of the windshield [...]" so...
Sorry (not sorry) to necro the thread but I SEARCHED instead of just asking and it led me here. I was wondering if the Slate would have windshield cleaning fluid sprayers. That probably isn't a regulated thing, right, so maybe not? But I saw your picture and there it is, clear as day. Good...
I would hope that the mid-20s figure includes enough margin to be profitable on the Blank Slate. If they are banking on accessory sales to float the company, well, I just don't think that's going to happen. Too many 3d printers and third party accessory sellers to expect a lot of first party...
I think you aren't wrong tgpii. It does seem a bit expensive compared to other (used) EVs. A lot of that comes from the wild depreciation for EVs, resale value just takes a nosedive moreso than ICE or other "more established" platforms.
While they advertised it as a cheap vehicle, I don't...
It could be good news, they have more interest than expected and needed to immediately lighten Chris's workload to execute to her standards at scale. Wish she could have kept a C-title as peers with the new guy tho
Cool! Thanks for sharing.
Wow... there will be more accessories to buy than I thought! Need a center console or armrest? Accessory. Door cubbies? Accessory. Oh well, I own some 3D printers, might as well put them to work
Thinking on it further, DIN is not dead and probably won't die. Sorry for talking out of my ass!
Like says above, it will be the already existing standard adapted where possible. Significantly smaller market than it used to be I imagine
Are the Slate gloveboxes deep enough for a DIN unit?
You seem to be missing my point. People aren't installing aftermarket stereos in new cars. As older cars are abandoned, there are that many fewer DIN-compatible vehicles on the road. Eventually, it will no longer be profitable to make DIN stereos because fewer people are buying them because...
They did not make a decision based on gender. She talks about one data point they considered while making the decision. Many other considerations went into the decision to use a fob over a blade, don't you think?
I called you misogynist because of this comment:
I'm a guy, but I don't feel...
I'm not convinced there won't be a bladed key. The article doesn't say that, it just explains why they included the 'unnecessary' feature of a fob for lock/unlock. The video shows the key and does not appear to have a slot for a blade.... but we are still 6+ months from delivery. Those fobs...
None of these have anything to do with gender. The video you linked said nothing about women on the design team not liking the key blade. Maybe you got that from another source but regardless, how about toning down the misogyny.
They are valid arguments, sure. I didn't know there was no...
I'll admit I'm pretty gullible but the internet is so damn down on Donut. Maybe they really did crack the code, it's like most people don't believe that is possible for a small company. It happens, though. It's how some small companies become big companies.
The first test result, all the...
