I do not want Slate to add any remote connective connection systems (Bluetooth and/or WiFi) into the truck itself. I'm saying let me use a dedicated tablet in the truck. Save that information to my account. Then from my Photo I could launch the slate app and see that information as well...
I think it is a core feature of all other EVs, but yes it's not necessary and under my suggestions it becomes a feature added by the user's request. It doesn't need to be cellular as well. Just Wi-Fi or Bluetooth from iPad to iPhone. I can do math, but you normally don't charge your battery to...
I think battery status and range visibility should be considered a core feature, even on a low-cost truck. It doesn’t need a full always-connected LTE subscription like modern EVs, but there should at least be local Wi-Fi or Bluetooth access so you can monitor charging and state of charge...
I've added some additional STLs. I'm working my way through the entire Starter Pack Builds. I'm also going to try to have some made of just the interior.
I thought the wheel being detached would work nice if you want to make them workable. Drill a couple holes, insert a pin, find a hill. It’s will use gravity to move like the Nicola One Semi
Since people are getting confused. This is my understanding.
Reservation — $50
Reserves your place in line (delivery slot). First come, first serve. Fully refundable.
Pre-Order — $300
Locks in your delivery slot. If you already have a reservation, it would only be an additional $250. This is...
Also, remember that even if they could push trucks out as fast as possible, they probably won’t. New vehicle launches are usually purposely ramped up slowly so issues and recalls can be identified early before scaling to full production.
I’d much rather see Slate take their time, work through...
Slate hinted at more announcements coming soon, and after a recent conversation with a customer service rep, I wouldn’t be surprised if “Slate University” is one of them.
I think it’s something Slate needs before customers finalize builds. Since the whole platform revolves around customization...
For a brief moment, I got to experience what the Maker could feel like with pricing attached to the builds. Not real pricing but developer placeholder data. Seeing options change totals, imagining different configurations, and interacting with it as if ordering was right around the corner...
Here is a STL that I had a AI generate from images of the truck. I had to do it multiple times with different setting, but this one is pretty good. The file is 45MB so it wouldn't let me attach it to the post so I made webpage for viewing and downloading.

Enjoy!
I was posting more to be funny since everyone was over analyzing the video. I will add I use ChatGPT to help do my job. It's great, however it will lie and be wrong. I'm a programmer and if you have to also know how to do it. If you rely just on the AI your screwed!
I had AI analyze the video.
A few things stand out that most people probably wouldn’t notice right away:
The body structure is extremely simple
The rear cab wall and bed floor area look very flat and modular compared to most modern trucks. That’s a huge clue that Slate Auto is optimizing for...
It may go the other route, if they are less accidents including major accidents the needs for higher insurance will go away. That is going to kill the profit for insurance companies. So my guess is that they will keep prices the same and just take the profit from the less accidents.
After sodamo clearly alluded to making it with my 3D printer, I plan to start selling these immediately upon release of the truck. 😀
“Tow rated” is more of a mindset than an engineering certification anyway.
