Fog lights pre installed or kit for self install?

I'm a very do it yourself kind of guy but I'm wondering if it would be better to spec out the truck to have the fog lights already installed or get the kit and DIY? I'm wondering if running wires and installing switches will be needed or if a computer needs to be connected to turn on the feature like I had to in my Ram.
