Needs to be a series hybrid.

I love the Slate, how ever I am hoping to use it as a work truck for IT field support. Once I put my ladders on and load this down with my tools and consumables I will lose most of the slates range. Ladders being the biggest hit to gas mileage in my experience with work trucks. I also can not just lay my ladders in the bed even if I remove the passenger seat.

While the Slate has a lot of issues that just come with EV's for this use as a work vehicle. I do think the can be over come with a simple range extender. Honestly this truck is so small I am a tad bit worried about it flipping with ladders on the roof, my frontier and transit where both noticeably affected when turning.

It should probably be more stable even though small, because with the bottom mounted battery, the center of gravity is lower. The impact of ladders mounted on the rack/towers on range is going to depend a lot on speed. For local trips on surface streets it shouldn't be bad, freeway trips at 75+ may be an issue.
I figure the slate truck may see a lot of use as local work trucks, once they are past reserved orders and there is some real world use reports.
